As a former devout old world Satanist(the more violent form of satanism, not the political type), now born again Christian as well, I can say that it was intense hearing God speak to me, asking me to come back to him. It'll be a year this June and my life has been so much better since opening my heart to Christ. I actually agree with a lot of what she's saying. I've been a metal head my entire life since a little boy and the misunderstanding and judgemental attitudes definitely played a hand in my walking away from God, I was raised Christian but lost my faith when my parents died, I felt like I didn't have that community and I fell into my anger and hatred. So I completely relate to what she is saying.

@@SeanWinters thank you, it's been a journey, but I'm here for it. Another thing she mentioned in this video that hit me hard is how strong the demonic attacks were, like her, once I turned back to God. Almost like I had to atone and repent each individual sin and demon and they kept fighting back, trying to stay, but luckily I kept on top of it through tons of prayer, talking to my new pastor(been going to church for a month and a half now), and my uncle who is also a pastor(he's been helping me throughout the last year with all of this), and the two of them have been essential for my spiritual healing. I also have my metal head Bible study group that is slowly growing with other people in the metal community who are, what I call, "closet Christians" because it's hard to be Christian in the metal scene, it can get violent and rather frightening id imagine for some, trying to be Christian and a metal head, but my Bible study group have also been key in helping me with my progress and helping me to remain on my path walking with God.

@@jamesfahey5686 thank you, so am I, the last several years(I was a Satanist unfortunately for over 20 years) I had been feeling that internal struggle and before I had my moment where I broke down, it was very strong, like God was literally pulling me back to his arms until I heard him calling out to me, clear and loud as a bell, "when are you coming back to me?" And I just broke, I'm tearing up just writing this, and I immediately got onto KZbin and started researching the Bible and haven't looked back.

I shed more than a few tears watching this video. Can relate so much, being a teenage goth myself, drawn to Wicca at first, then Crowley, but never formally joining any groups. Every time I made a move towards Christianity, I would experience the most dramatic, out-of-the blue life circumstances, culminating on the night of September 23, 2021, when I was spiritually attacked and almost lost my right eye during the ordeal. That’s the night I learned, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the unseen world exists, that real malevolence exists, but most importantly, that there is only one name under heaven and earth by which we can be saved, for he did indeed save me, and his name is Jesus.

@EmilyTodicescu - There are! Sounds like you aren't a Goth anymore, but if you are and seeking any good community, there are Christian Goths. Google it. If you aren't interested anymore and/or God wanted you to take a break or leave it, respect to you in that. My 2 cents comes more from an angle of being open to God embracing us in our Gothiness / Metalheadness / Horror-Genreness ( for examples ) to create art and tell stories through our Christian world-view and lenses. Redeeming what was corrupt, not necessarily casting off the whole scene or interest. And, again, it is only my one opinion, and ultimately it is between every Believer and the Spirit in how they are to live their lives out. Glad you are with Jesus and the Church!

It came as a shock to me that nobody ever takes me up on that offer. I even provide my email at times if people want to talk in a less public setting. I'm willing to spend as much time as it takes to present all the evidence I have to offer. Instead of requesting the evidence, which is a reasonable request, I get a lot of vitriol thrown my way. The nasty messages doesn't bother me. Jesus told us to expect hatred, so I do.

There certainly is more than 2 sides to the universe and Mankind. The many levels. I've been to all creations. I opened my third eye. I didn't use drugs to do it. I just didn't eat sugar and I learned how to meditate, and got my vibration up. I suggest all of mankind learn how to do it. I have been so happy and creative since I did it. The illusion of magic. It's hard to explain. I couldn't leave God, he had to send me home. He made me think I was peeing myself; Literally I felt wet, I could hear it hitting the floor as I was booking it out of my chair to the bathroom. Got in the bthrm and I was dry, didnt have to go. I leaned on the wall. I was in panic mode. Than I realized what just went down. I busted out laughing, Smiling ear to ear. I was so excited, I just came back from heaven. God is amazing. He is beautiful and he is powerful. He is rich with tallent. If only people knew what their ability was. Every time I tell my story I get a rush of excitement, Goose bumps all over. You believe in Jesus, Regardless it's a beautiful story. Just know God is real. All-knowing when you're there. Absolutely no attitude. It was truly peaceful. It was really weird seeing without eyeballs. You can hear but you don't have ears, you don't take your body. That leaves me to tell everybody, don't worry we do not die. God loves every one of us. God would never hurt us, Ever. Cleaning up the earth is not hurting us. You may feel like it, but he is not. On the other-side we see differently. Love yourself, have no fear. We are here to love, create, and serve. No matter qhat we think We belong to God. Have faith God bless you, I love you. Take care

I work in an administrative capacity in a ministry setting with people who are almost exclusively pastors or pastors' wives. As wonderful as these men and women are, it can be isolating for a person who comes from a very different background. I don't think most Christians realize that offhand, unintentionally derogatory comments about something as simple as fashion choices can dredge up old hurts. "Mean girls" exist--and sometimes thrive--in Sunday schools and small groups. The Lord makes us unique, and He uses our differences to reach diverse groups of people. But brothers and sisters in Christ ALL need encouragement and fellowship, not just the ones who look like you. Praise God for stories like this! Tepe and her friend who also came to Christ will be able to speak into the lives of so many hurting and lost people. May the Lord use them mightily for His name and glory! (One last thing... verbal fillers and pauses do make it more challenging to listen to a speaker, but that doesn't mean the message is less important or impactful. Polished speech takes practice, especially when addressing deeply personal issues. Sad to see so many comments dwelling on her use of "like" in lieu of the victory in Christ her story represents.)

Tepe, thanks for sharing your story. I grew up in a single parent household, dad committed suicide and my childhood was filled with similar questions but gravitated more towards anger. Lots of metal. Lots of asking why God would allow certain things and why my struggles would always compound over and over. I still have a hard time getting stuck in the valleys. The world becomes a constant source of heartache for me that it operates the way it does. You could never convince me that God doesn’t exist because I have experienced too much but I am always evaluating why certain circumstances come to pass. I believe anymore that the struggle is the best testimony for others dealing with the same issues. Their words are the most comforting, the most helpful and are tested by the trial. Keep holding on to the savior. He knows our hearts and our struggles and is there in them. We just gotta keep reminding each other of that fact.

I was so frustrated when I became a Christian that a church my husband and I attended were not forthcoming in answering questions also. We too were met with the ‘have faith’ narrative and were frustrated with the ‘leave your brain at the door as you come in and pick it up on the way out’ syndrome. We came to the conclusion that they just didn’t know the answers to what we now consider very basic questions which are actually not particularly hard to answer. So glad we had a stronger faith than some and our questions sent us on a journey to find the answers ourselves, which we did. This results in a much firmer foundation than the ‘have faith’ wishy washy belief. Faith has to be set on a firm foundation not on some vague faith/belief in something you don’t really know what. Keep up these wonderful interviews Sean, I’m sure they help a lot for people who are searching or needing a little boost in a quiet season. God can use our individual personalities to draw certain types of people. We need to lean in even more when we feel ostracized because if we do, others are feeling that way too. I love my mom but she always obsessed over us looking our Sunday best on Sunday mornings. I've had family tell me they didn't want to go to church because they didn't have anything nice enough to wear. I realized I didn't want anyone to be able to use not having nice clothes as a stumbling block keeping people away from Jesus. Jesus said we shouldn't prioritize those with fancy clothes and jewelry, but the poor. Biblical modesty is covered up and not costly clothes. So as long as we are covered and not in pajamas, i have pretty low expectations for my family's outfits. I might ruffle some feathers of fancier dressers, but I'd rather do that than turn people who need Jesus off because of what they wear.

The Orthodox Church is a spooky kind of church anyway. For an ex-satanist, it will be appealing. The sensuality of it: the incense (smells good), the litia (sweetened, spiced bread given at Vespers (think of cakes of light from Crowley), the eating of bread and drinking of red wine, and the darkened nave lit with only candlelight and incantations chanted. WOW!!! That is what drew me in, and then I learned who God is and that He is good to me. Try it, enjoy it, take joy in it, blessed are those who love the beauty of the Lord's house.

Anyway, I've learned things that made me see my past experiences through a different lense. I don't need someone in person to talk to, because I spent most my life around those people. I was one of those people myself.

@@emalee8366 You said in your previous post that your always looking for Christians willing to discuss but now you don't want to talk to those people. Not trying to be disrespectful. @@karenfish4245 The way you presented it as just hang out and exchange experiences isn't what I had in mind when I said have discussions. Josh and Sean McDowell write in chapter 2 of New Evidence that Demands a Verdict (which I own and have read) that anyone who doesn't believe the gospel either doesn't know the evidence or would prefer to be evil than follow God. Frank Turik says similar but worse garbage than the McDowells. As a non-Christian, I get mistreated all the time by Christians, because I'm surrounded by them in my life. As far a I'm concerned, apologetics is the process of starting with the conclusion and then coming up with explanations that aren't in evidence to explain why that conclusion is correct. That's normal human behavior, but it's not what tends to lead to consensus or even correctness. I want to sit down with Christians who insist I'm withe evil or ignorant and demonstrate they're the ones who are ignorant, and they're mistreating people like me out of ignorance. When I ask evangelicals to present the case of their opponents (typically critical scholars) and then why they disagree, they don't know what the consensus is among critical scholars. If I know born sides of the argument, and they only know 1, than why are they telling me I'm the one who's ignorant? I'm sure Sean here wouldn't believe how teachings hurt people, but neither did Joshua Harris until recent years. Sean does harm people whether or not he recognizes it, and some of that harm is directed at me.

What a wonderful touching testimony. I LOVE listening to other people's testimonies. I couldn't listen without getting emotional. What a lovely young lady. Jesus has saved us, and we are grateful, LORD. I was saved out of a world of hard bitter pride, hate, and anger. To say I had anger issues is to downplay it. I subsisted on a diet of rage against anyone and everyone. When I eventually gave in to God, He took my cold, hard, dead, rage-filled heart, and gave me a new, soft, tender, and joyful one. Praise Him and His glorious name. Life is still hard, and I still have problems, but I know I don't walk alone. "Yea, though I walk through the valley... I will not fear. Me too. I've been rebellious against any authorities my whole life. I was not raised in a Christian family but my favorite person(my Gramma) who gave me experiences in her denomination (LDS) church as a preteen. It was the foundation I eventually needed. As a young adult I explored Wicca, Buddhism read "A Course In Miracles" and read the bible. Nothing really "stuck" but all of them helped me get thru the crisis in my life at the time. Finally in my 50s nothing I've looked into in the past was working anymore. I had to get to a really broken and humble place before I could hear and feel the Holy Spirit. I've been a fool. But it's what I needed.

"The old christians" is inaccurate. This is not a case of old or new, because there will always be some Christians who are unfortunately in error of the way, truth and life. But they are still Christians, and they are to be prayed over in forgiveness. Beyond the worldly views, what people forget to realize is there is no perfect Christian, we are all flawed sinners and what one Christian wants for another Christian is overridden immediately by what God wills; because we do not serve men. Only God is the ultimate, immaculate authority, only through He is the door to Heaven.

I once asked a 'christian' (little 'c' on purpose) Sunday school teacher 'how do you know Jesus loves me?' .. I got put in a corner for the remaining time of class. It was a genuine question. I was under the age of 5.I may have been an older 3. Christianity has a hypocrite problem. The plank in their own eyes blinds them to their hypocrisy and terrible behaviors. It turns away many people that God has personally called to His flock. It is a sad state of affairs. EDIT: Just an FYI, abortion is a blood ritual. Also the paper burning thing is a spell despite her wanting to scoff it away as 'mind theatre'. I think she is still in denial about certain things she came from and if she isn't careful it could become a stumbling block or door. Also rejection of Authority/authority is witchcraft plain speaking.

I do have to say… Yes Christian’s can be judgmental just as people from all walks of life are… But I think sometimes Christian’s are accused of being judgmental or misunderstood because they understand what it would mean for the eternity of a soul who denounces Christ and they are grieved but maybe don’t always express that in the best way. The atheists or people involved in witchcraft maybe don’t “judge” and say “you do you” because they don’t understand GODs Holiness and the eternal ramifications for whose hands we place our soul in.

A lot of people still come from those churches where they freak out if you ask questions, like they've never heard of apologetics or something. That's something that hopefully is changing now that more people know from people like Frank Turek, Josh and Sean McDowell, Alisa Schilders, Melissa Dougherty, MIke Winger, etc, what apologetics actually is and how it works. I think a lot of "pre-apologetics" thinking whereby it might have existed but not been mainstream, is also pre-KZbin

That's one benefit of the internet, among all the pros and cons. Even before KZbin, there were major/quality apologetics websites and forums. When I was younger and had questions, or had friends that had questions or believed something different, I searched it out diligently until I found a satisfactory answer that fit together with everything else. Personally I don't understand why people would leave the faith over intellectual questions, or even logical/moral questions, without doing significant reading/research, because any question or objection you could possibly have or dream up has been dealt with by people in great depth. That's no guarantee necessarily that it will satisfy you, but to remain ignorant of how such topics are dealt with seems lazy or like intentional/willful ignorance, and only proves it's a spiritual issue and not an intellectual one at a base level.
