I'm sorry, but the "both sides" argument is a lame & very dismissive stance. In that case, it's been a few weeks since this story broke...where are the videos of white children being gestured "no?" The Rosita character hi-fives an ADULT right next to the kids but refuses to acknowledge CHILDREN? The costumed employee saw them, if not..why bother gesturing? It's easy for those who have never been discriminated against to sit on their pedestal & say this is an overreaction, lawsuits are excessive & unnecessary, the costumes offer limited visibility, & the thousand other excuses they'd use to dismiss this behavior. How do you explain the multiple other videos of the same type of treatment? Accountability has to start somewhere because Sesame Place's official statement (which itself was just another laundry list of excuses) would love those families continued patronage, just as long as they don't complain about what everyone can clearly see.

I mean that's the point though, Blind spots. Like the Rosita one was intentional because there was direct contact and she basically did tell the girls no when it wouldn't have killed her to even briefly interact. But the other one they're showing of the girl back in June getting ignored twice (well for one they really aren't showing the whole clips) is dumb because she literally is going up to the characters (while not being in the front) and trying to get attention right when they turn away. That's a blind spot. Like its not the girls fault but you clearly see the characters interact only with the people sitting down in front. The dad should have brought her closer or asked someone to squeeze them in. Its just a real unfortunate circumstance, but easily those 2 weren't intentional. The Rosita one though is a whole other bag of worms.

Exactly! They did not get rid of Elmo when that controversy surrounded the guy that plays him on the show. They specifically said that Sesame Street was too big to let that issue tarnish the brand. He was let go to preserve the integrity of the show and the brand. The same needs to happen with the person or persons who wears the Rosina costume. The so called training should be that No One messes with the Sesame Street brand!!! The behavior of the employees is under scrutiny whether in a costume or out. Maybe they should be trained by Chic Fil A so it will be their pleasure to be a part of the Sesame Street Mystique and be a catalyst for promoting the ideals of the show!

Now there's a lady claiming the same claim racism against Chucky Cheese. This has created problems. I'm more concerned about what the daughter is taught by her parents then what the waving off the character will do to her. $$$$$$$ You can't always be the one that is picked and you can't always be the one that is the first. I have been through similar situations the beginning of my childhood but my parents taught me to learn from it grow from it and be removed from it. Then as I got older I saw where looking at it from this way allowed me to hear God when things didn't go my way and he lead me down positive paths. Still at 64 I'm learning the wise lesson my parents taught me. If God says no to you are you going to call him racist? What we go through is a lesson for the next mile we go down. We keep the bad coming back because we don't grow and move on. We BLOW and STAND STILL and get others on board to feed our anger.

There will always be copycats looking for their 15 minutes of fame. I haven't seen a pattern of videos at Chucky Cheese. Sometimes parents pay extra for a meet and greet and the mascot is only supposed to interact with the kids in that group during the event. The kids on the stage looked a lot older than the 2-yr-old baby; maybe the baby wasn't part of that particular group and so he wasn't supposed to include her at that moment.
