I actually liked Senator Braun believe it or not, he made the point that 17 dollars an hour is not a wage to be proud of in this day and age, and that the best way to keep unions off your back is to treat them better. Never thought i’d see a nominally pro-union republican. Learn something new everyday

As a business owner, I don't consider the act of creating a job (I've created 35) a benevolent act. There is a limit to the revenue that may be created by two hands. For a business to grow, it takes people and their motive power to build both revenue and profits. My shares earn direct dividends through the profits generated by our company's staff. Had my wife and I remained a two person company, we would not have been able to generate near the dividends we did. I have no fear of any union.

Of course not because the GOP works for one group and one group only. The rich business owners. And The Democratic Party, even though it's becoming more and more influenced by corporate interest, to its credit isn't entirely owned by big business, though a decent portion of it now is unfortunately.

Sen. Mullin is so ignorant. There really should be a minimum I.Q. in order to serve in Congress. He and Lauren Boebart have made that very clear. He clearly doesn't even understand what this hearing is actually about. I also love when he touts his success as a business owner, especially given the fact that he inherited his plumbing company via the genetic lottery.

I hope the next on line is AMAZON!!!! Who has now created contractors to do the deliveries and not been employed to get the benefits they deserve!!! I see comments of people not supporting these employees what is wrong with you? Everyone has the right to work in a healthy working environment and have fairly benefits like anyone's else. It's time to make sure people have enough money...to pay their bills otherwise close your business if you are a tyrant employer, you are not good to anyone. Your customer service is incompetent and the services are hacking many Americans because your employees are unhappy.

All businesses raised salaries and wages because of inflation. To say Mr Schultz raise wages because of union potential is a gross overestimate. It’s because of politics, we’re told by financial experts, we have inflation do to over spending. You may want to consult with the Inflation n Chief and the other two branches in charge voted for excessive spending.

Starbucks was a small business once. Explain to me why when someone takes a huge RISK to start a business in this country, and becomes successful- the employees then get to decide what a 'fair' wage is? YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK THERE, ITS AN AGREEMENT.

From what I have heard, If you remove government unions, union workers earn less than non union workers. I don't know if that's true, but it definitely makes sense to leave out government unions and unions working on public works projects from the statistics. Government isn't going to go bankrupt, but businesses will. It is completely disingenuous comparison when these senators do not remove government unions from the equation.

Every worker should be entitled to the majority of his or her labor value. Expecting the government to ensure that people are masters of their labor and business having NO right to interfere with workers advocating for their own interests is a good thing. Anybody who says otherwise needs to get the boot off their face and stand up for themselves.

Hi David, I see your line of reasoning and your argument makes sense. However, you are underestimating the amount of middle aged adults that work these types of service jobs as their main source of income. I think we should be giving those people a livable wage because work is work. Additionally, labor unions provide more than just regular raises, as they can negotiate better working conditions in general.
