Sean Payton had a lot of people fooled and created a narrative that Russ can’t play anymore. Those Payton ball suckers like Pete drank the cool aid. He played awful in the 1st Qtr - sure did, hasn’t played football in 11 months; the Jets are banged up on defense - that has nothing to do with Russ; his receivers bailed him out on a few throws, yup - all receivers bail out qb’s on some throws if the ball is caught. Just stop it Prisco. The biggest difference is knowledge of defense and understanding how to adjust plays at the line. He’s also a better passer and it ain’t even close. JF had 10 TD’s in 6 games, Russ had 3 in 1 game. Keep hating Pete, you ain’t the only one who will eat crow. There’s plenty of folks out there hating on Russ because of BS Payton fed to the media - keep hating!

LOL - what's hilarious is guys like him won't even admit that Fields WOULDN'T throw the 50/50 balls. The only people who wouldn't have at least kicked the tires with Russ are those who are afraid to make tough decisions. I'm a Steelers fan and went from, "Yeah, we can make the playoffs as usual but we'll be bounced in the first round" to, "I could actually see us getting a first round bye." Good QB play opens up the run game and we say that Sunday. Fields doesn't scare anyone with his arm!

Of course he was gonna be rusty. That’s why I didn’t respect the Pittsburgh Steelers fans booing him in the first quarter like goddamn give this dude a break lol I’m a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I’ve been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan since 2010. I’ve witnessed them losing Super Bowl to Aaron Rodgers. I’ve seen them beat the Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner when he was the quarterback for them and Troy Polamalu was on the Steelers team. I used to have his jersey. I read a whole history book on this amazing team I get emotional when I see them play great like last night. I was almost crying because it’s about damn time the Steelers look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, but I even knew Russell Wilson was gonna start out a little rusty, but I knew he was gonna settle into the game and that’s exactly what he did so I don’t understand why these people that claim their Steelers fans were booing him because any real diehard Steelers fan that understands the game of football and how it works wouldn’t have booed him at all.

Pete says the Jets were banged up, but the Jets still had their best corner and their front 7 intact. He also doesn't mention how the Steelers were missing 3 starting offensive lineman (Frazier, Fautanu, Daniels). Broderick Jones is like a turnstile at RT. Russ did well under pressure getting sacked only once. Also, he mentions the two jump balls, but Pickens and Calvin Austin also dropped perfectly thrown balls. He also doesn't mention how the Steelers are near the bottom of the league in WR separation, meaning your going to have more contested catches than other teams.

Russ finds ways to win. I think he had two QB sneaks in that game; one for a TD and one a first down. I cant recall seeing him do that twice in a game. Even his interview seemed much less corny; more genuine. He's been thru alot since leaving Seattle and seems to have shook off the hate.

Here is the difference between Fields and Wilson. You have to make excuses for Fields below average play and you have to make excuses for why Wilson played so well. Russ had many games just like this in Denver. Sunday's game was a surprise to many fans because they never actually watched him last year in Denver and believed the phoney narrative put out by the media to pump up Fields.
