That winning and losing "myth" even got people who became quite famous wrestlers, even close before they started to become a wrestler. Like Chirs Jericho said that he figured out that it's scripted who gets over, but if it comes to the championship matches he thought they are legit. So a pro wrestler had to tell him, when Jericho was the greenest greenhorn, that also the outcome of a championship match is scripted. And he was like "WTF?!" 🤣

That the crowd noise gets manipulated already happened during the "Giolden Era" There was a match with Hogan where the crowd did like his heel oponent more than him. The canned heat goes the other way too. They control all crowd noise. I once tried to shout as loud as I could "HEY!!!" at a live Raw during a particularly quiet match because I wanted to see if I could catch myself on the live broadcast I was recording at home. When I say as loud as I could, I mean my voice rang out through the entire arena, and the match was a tag match with MNM, and Melina at ringside actually turned to look when I did it. I watched the replay, found the point where Melina turned away from the ring to look, and no shout. It was just the same standard generic audience noise droning on like always during the live broadcast. They'd dubbed me out.

You can get away with it in a real arena, but it looks and sounds weird when you're in some hole in the wall tiny 5,000 seat arena that's usually used for amateur indoor soccer. You can literally see everybody else's face in the seats and they're playing the "full stadium cheers" soundtrack on the speakers and it makes it seem like you're attending an event with the world's most talented collection of ventriloquists.

The closest thing to "Do wins & losses affect pay?" being true would probably be the Winner's Purse, which I believe is still 100% a real thing in pro wrestling. Sure, it's all pre-determined, but giving the winner of a match a little extra money is still a reliable way for the booker to say "I'm putting my faith in you, & I'm even putting down extra money to prove it, so prove to me that you're worth it".

Jesse Ventura just told Chris Van Vliet that he had to ask Vince to do Predator. But when Vince wouldn't return his calls, he accepted the role and quit WWF when Vince finally called back. Vince tried to get Ventura to fire his agent and use one of theirs so that he could get a piece of the pie. Shady. Also, I still wonder how of Dirty Dom's heat/boos is piped in. Some attendees say the boos are universal, but not as loud as it comes off on TV.

I got thinking. When you said about pay increase for high risk matches. Those matches would never be the first or second match on the card. Those are usually highlights of the night, even if they’re not the headliner. Therefore those talent would be getting paid well already, and then they have that “incentive” I also agree with you about WWE in this case not so much worried about your well-being but rather “their investment” as you put it (I like that actually). I worked construction for over 18 years, and although the risks are very real, and is a physically demanding job, our boss wasn’t a bad guy, but you knew in his eyes, if you couldn’t be there, wether sick or hurt, he wanted you to get better, because he needed you back to work And about the developmental territories, I feel that was a “fair” way to keep you working, and to temporarily “demote you”, so you can improve, instead of just firing you. That’s actually, to me anyways, is pretty good of WWE. (I want to call the developmental territories, the “farm league”, that the Canadian hockey fan in me, sorry Maven)

I remember a show in Winnipeg, Manitoba one time before the wrestling even started as the crowd was still coming in(most were sitting down already) a ring announcer entered the ring and asked the crowd how would they react if a certain wrestler would come out and the fans would cheer or boo and they would do this with a couple of wrestlers names ( always at least 1 face and one heel were mentioned). I never thought much about it then because I was just a young kid watching the event and just thought the WWE was just interacting with it's fans and having a memorable evening. It wasn't until later in life when I worked in television that I really understood what they were doing that night. The WWE was just recording the boos and cheers to play over the actual crowd noise for television and not tell the crowd what they were really doing.

Ages and ages back we were at a live show (it was Mean Gene in the ring, that tells you how long back!). Before the show went on the air, he got us all to chant a few things - "Scary Sheri" and "Macho! Macho!" are two I remember. Don't know where they used them though because I was watching live, not at home.

Proud of myself after being able to say for all of them if they were true or false correctly, before you give your answer. Some of them were common sense, and, some of them I knew because my knowledge is based on things we've heard through the years. Like, " only WWE wrestlers are allowed in the locker room " , I remember Juventud Guerrera getting heat for bringing his girlfriend ( or wife maybe, not sure ) in the locker room to a show, so, if he got heat for it, it pretty much let us know that it's True. The " Wrestlers need permission from WWE to get tattoos " and the " WWE wrestlers can't accept acting roles without company approval " , I remember Rusev getting severe heat from Vince just for cutting his hair. If simply getting a haircut ( which ain't a big deal, since it'll grow back anyway ) can bring wrestlers heat, it feels obvious wrestlers can't do anything at all without WWE's approval ( getting a tattoo, accepting acting roles, ect ) , so those were obvious True. The " WWE plants fake fans in the audience to start chants or reactions " was an obvious False. Why was it obvious ? The reason was given in the video. It's because the " WWE manipulates crowd noises " is True. That simple. Why would they plant fake fans to get reactions, when they can easily manipulate the crowd noises anyway and add the chants and reactions they want to have ?... I mean, it would feel like a wasted effort. Don't need to plant fake fans to start chants or reactions, when we can add them anyway by pressing a simple button. The fact that WWE manipulates crowd noises is something we've always known, and for anyone who wasn't sure if WWE could do that or not, well, 2020 happened 😄 . WWE were producing shows in an empty arena, with just screens in the background showing people's webcams without sound. It was hours of entire shows each week with fake crowd noises from start to finish since there weren't any crowd at all to make any noise. So, for anyone who had doubts before if that's something the WWE can do or not, I don't think there's much room for doubts after that. 😅 . Knowing that they can do it so easily, it would be completly useless to plant fake fans, don't need that. It's always cool to have confirmation about all these things from someone who lived things on the inside though.
