Like when our ban Josip Jelačić helped crush the Hungarian revolution, but got basically nothing in return from the empire Instead, Hungarians got more power and recognition, while we were still recognized as a region, or a "kingdom" subservient to the empire. Yes, you have some Croatians that support the monarchy. I'm surprised as well

Should have returned Sudtyrol to Austria before releasing Croatia. You would have had to garrison it as Croatia but it would have given you an extra core and nicer borders later

@@Bitt3rSteel Ahhh yeah that makes sense, I didn't consider how the extra territory would effect the AI, or the extra victory points for that matter. I guess there's not much stopping you from taking it off the Italians after forming Austria Hungary anyways, so no big deal

I had a few people suggest this on my video as well and I hadn't even thought of the possibility. Definitely if you can accomplish the attack on Austria still it is worth it, since you will then be at max cores without having to fight Italy. But probably for an already difficult tutorial it's best to leave it out of the question 😄

If you want to give the generals traits the first option in the staff academy can give a really good traits and allows to hire general from lvl 2 instead of 1 I think either mass assault or the doctrine before it can give you brilliant strategist for free on new generals and they start from lvl 2

31:30 Wait, he doesn't know how that works? Basically whoever conquers a province gets the province (if certain criteria is met, like it needs to connect to their land etc.). But sometimes someone else gets the right to control the province. The thing is that only gets updated when the full province is conquered, leading sometimes to situations like that, where the AI gets a small stretch of not fully conquered provinces directly on the front, leaving you wating till you get your promised land.

occupation like what you saw in slovenia happens all the time. as long as its your territory that troops are pushing in from, it should always go to you. you can abuse that in say the eastern front as germany by requesting the two or three states on romania's frontline for example and then occupy all the territory they push in to

I did this in a multiplayer game a month ago. It was so stupid. I let the Ustaše rise up as Yugo, pretended that my game crashed and rejoined as Croatia, won, then proceeded to take over an AI Hungary, let Germany give me Austria, and then take Czechoslovakia. Croatia is the worst country to form Austro-Hungary.
