I love this. This is my first Twice song. I’m sold. This felt like for me as a Black female K-Pop fan - this was a trip back in time to right a cultural misstep, a missed opportunity if you will. twice has been around for a looooong time, and their sound used to be different, it suited their age at the time, and as they grew and matured their sound matured too. If you’re looking for songs like this, I’d recommend checking out from the album Feel Special onwards. Their older songs are good too, but I understand that the “k-popy, girly cutesy” sound is not everyone’s cup of tea. All the recommendations from the replies to your comments are good. I’d also recommend you check out Twice’s Japanese members (under the name MISAMO) album, particularly the song Do Not Touch

The Momo and Chae bit after Megan’s part is SO satisfying, it reminds me of their Japanese single Better where they inserted an extra rap section near the end, that was really satisfying as well. The line distribution is really good here, but not only that, the lines themselves gave the girls a chance to shine individually. Also I really appreciate the end part where instead the girls all overlay the main “hey boy…” part with their own parts, so good!

This is one of those comebacks where you can tell that on top of it being an incredible song, the members all clearly love it too and that really shows. Megan's rap into Momo's bridge part, and then the change up for Chae's section is absolute art. It flows so well, plays with the energy in the perfect way, and is a nice little break before going back into it. This is easily one of their best comebacks to date.

Megan Thee Stallion’s music on its own is not exactly my style, but i have gained SO much respect for her because of yhe way she’s treated her kpop collabs. Her verse is a perhapd more suggestive than you would typically find in a Twice song, but its certainly very tame in camparison to what Megan would be singing on her own music, and I LOVE her verse on Butter. She does such a good job of being considerate of the different genre/artist/audience without loosing what makes her sound unique.
