It's only ironic that Senna won a Grand Prix sponsored by Sega, as his name was on their F1 game for the Genesis at the time, Super Monaco GP.

Definitely one of the best opening laps by a driver in F1, but for greatest race I've got to give it to Jackie Stewart in the 1968 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Absolutely horrible conditions on one of the most dangerous tracks, he won the race by 4 minutes!

As for great first laps: Verstappen at the 2017 Chinese GP or Raikkonen at the 2020 Portuguese GP are up there with this one as well. As for great drives: Schumacher at Spain in 1996, Hamilton at Silverstone 2008 and Verstappen in Brazil 2016.

@jaguarfox9586 Hamilton finished first in the WDC that year, ahead of Vettel, Bottas and Raikkonen. Verstappen finished 6th, Red Bull finished 3rd, 300 points behind Mercedes and 154 behind Ferrari and only won 2 races on merit, Baku was a bit lucky. In China, Ricciardo was 1.4 seconds off the pace in Q3. How on Earth can you claim Verstappen had the fastest car? Give the guy some credit!
@jaguarfox9586 Жыл бұрын
@@harmkuijpers6642 I guess you didn't read my comment fully. I'm not gonna debate you.Furthermore no, I'm never gonna give him credit as a person, as a racing driver he did some good stuff, but overall he is terrible.We all have seen better. especially wheel to wheel and in respect. whether it is showing or giving. and people keep comparing him to Senna, which is an insult on so many levels. He was and is a hero to us and if I ain't mistaken we were just talking about Donington 93. You're bringing race finishes and whatnot, that ain't the point. especially considering max verstappen. if you like him that's fine, but he is nowhere in the ball park of any of the drivers you mentioned. he will never be anywhere near Senna. on and off the track. let's skip the part where Senna had a championship stolen and verstappen had one handed to him with proven role breaking...full stop. And how I can claim he has the fastest car? simple, look at right now. everything is tainted with secrecy, manipulation rule bending not to mention racism and assault. and people keep saying that's max. well max is showing psychopathic behavior and even that is being talked over and people try to rectify that. come on man. like I said be a fan of him whatever, but he is nothing compared to Senna. The red bull was never lower then 3rd after Vettel. we all know that. and THAT was my point. Senna was shifting manually had a underpowered V8 and no electronics. in 1 lap he took and eventually beat the V10 automatic, electronic suspension having Williams which was far superior. Benetton had the factory V8. so the Mac was greatly inferior. That was why I replied. Enjoy this era man. it won't last much longer. but people like you seem to love it and I really don't like talking to those people. which includes you. so I'm done. you may reply whatever, I know where this is headed so I'm out. I have nothing more to share. peace

Oh that intro. That' the one I associate with sitting in front of the TV early in a morning with the Japanese GP or Australian, with Murry and Johnathan Palmer and later Martin Brundle in the box, as well as the late, great, James Hunt. Everyone emembers the first lap, but not how the rest of the race played out. There was, also no speed limit so Senna set, ue to how the pit lane was set up. the fastest lap while flying through the pits. Work that one out...

One of his best drives was the race before this. Brazil when he had to fight car problems and still managed to get the win, when most drivers would have retired the car.
@TiagoCNeves Жыл бұрын
That race was in 1991. Remaining some laps to end, the car has a gearbox failure, which allows only the 6th gear. In 2020, Globo TV re-exibed the race. IMO, the race was boring, but the final was astonishing.

I'd love to make a F1 Brutal Crash video which would most definitely have the Barrichello's crash at Imola. But, this video will most likely be the last F1 video on this channel due to F1's super strict copyright, and F1 not respecting Fair Use which my content falls under.

Michael Andretti never had a fair chance at Mclaren. The team never wanted him and having Senna as #1 he pretty much got garbage. In the one race he finished on the podium, Senna pretty much told the team to give him what he got. Finished 3rd at Monza after spinning out early.
@martinstarnes2237 Жыл бұрын
Michael, whom I like greatly, commuted from the U.S. that season. There's commitment for you. He only has himself to blame. All he had to do was a decent job against Senna and other teams would've taken notice - particularly with the marketing opportunities in the U.S. Unfortunately, that season, he was abject.

Lewis Hamilton winning the São Paulo Grand Prix in 2021 after overcoming a disqualification and 25 grid place penalties. The pole lap that didn’t count, the charge through the field in the sprint race, the charge through the field in the feature race . . . An unreal performance not just in a single race but the whole weekend.

Someone mistook Tuesday for Thursday and decided to upload twice 😂. Never understand why Senna gets all the plaudits for the 1st lap, Barrichello going from 12th to 4th in a Jordan will always be much more impressive to me, shame he had the DNF (like he had at nearly every other race that season)

@martinstarnes2237 Жыл бұрын
Well, Senna got the plaudits because he took the lead and won the race. I reckon you get that, really. Rubens' lap was clearly a good lap, of course it was, and he was always a good wet-weather driver. Unfortunately for him, we were all watching Senna doing his thing like nobody before or since. Maybe Stirling........?
@harmkuijpers6642 Жыл бұрын
Senna was far and away the best driver of 1993, with a little better reliability mid season he could have won the championship. Prost's veto on Senna joining Williams is a joke. Senna would have destroyed him in a Williams.
