Yes he did. He got out of F1 afterwards (he said he was discussed by the cheating), and his reputation as a driver was caught in that scandal, which led to suing Renault. He recovered eventually. He is in F1E now (I think). But somehow he got the bad end of cheating anyway. That's why I don't like Alonso that much. He didn't left a single finger for Piquet Jr.

Ferrari wasn't fined because of Barrichello letting Schumacher passed that was perfectly legal just controversial, they were fined for Schumacher breaking podium protocol and giving up First Place to Barrichello, Schumacher paid him back though at the US Grand Prix when he slowed down to let Barrichello win, again perfectly legal. Schumacher was controversial definitely but the man is also the undisputed GOAT of F1 winning in cars that weren't the fastest and one was even considered undriveable by his team mate the GOATs of every sport have their controversies.

Ground affect was outlawed because innovation increased speed but the safety of the cars couldn't withstand impacts at the speeds they were travelling. Ground affect is coming back into the sport in 2022 now that safety is infinitely better

There was absolutely nothing on the line. Daniel Abt just wanted to prank his colleagues. For the 2002 ferrari issue, the 1M fine was because Schumacher made barichello stand on the top step of the podium. Thats illegal and Schumacher knew this but went ahead anyway
