I made an effort to memorize this track when I was a kid, playing Gran Turismo. My moment came when I was at a car show with a simulator that had a Nurburgring time attack. I was the only person who didn't crash and got the fastest time and no one could beat it lol. Would really love to try a lap irl.

i collected experience about the track in gt sport and gt7, overall i would guess about 17-20k laps, i live half an hour away from the track and i just did some laps there last friday (carfriday) irl. i just turned 20 tho and only have a vw fox with 54hp and i still manage to overtake full on tracktools like e36s on semis in the corners and my car is 100% stock with some good+ summer tires. simracing really makes you fast irl, my very first lap was already faster than most people would ever drive with all their experience. the track means everything to me, since i was 8 my uncle took me to every 24h race and since last year when i got a license i spend many weekends at the nls races, tourist drives and got a nice group of friends that i go to the 24 with. when i finished my engineering degree and my mechanic job training i will do everything to get a job in one of the teams, build an own tracktool (currently looking for an i20n performance) and maybe get an own racecar or even a team further down the line of my life

Most often, I'd buy the farm before I could do a full on hot lap. mad props to those drivers who really did brave the track and prayers to those that lost their life racing here. it really is the hardest track ever, but also one of the most exciting drives you can have

My favorite race is the 24 hrs of Nurburgring then the 24 hrs of Le Man. I saw the previous 24 hrs of Nurburgring and I found it amazing how the drivers completed lap after lap in the dark on such a dangerous track. One missed turn and that will be the last day in your life. I emulated the same conditions on project cars 2 with the 911 gt3 and I found it really difficult to keep the car on the track. Hats off to the drivers who risked their lives just to entertain us

This track is the main reason why I've became a genuine car enthusiast!!! Tho this circuit is considered as the world's longest, most technical and dangerous course, it's still have a special place in my heart ever since I was a kid!!!! I'm not even a German local (I'm just your average Asian guy who genuinely loves cars) but everytime I watch their race events like 24 Hours of the Nurburgring, DTM or even just setting a production car lap record, it's more than enough to make my whole day better!!! Ofc I wouldn't forget the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Circuit de la Sarthe), it also means a lot to me as well and it's one of the main reasons why I've became a car guy in the first place and also JGTC (Super GT), JTCC, Group A touring car racing, Group 5 and Time Attack Tsukuba racing would also be one of the main lists!!! Those 3 have mold to what I am now today and the main inspirations for me to pursue my dreams!!! And hopefully I could be able to race at the Nurburgring someday!! (even just for a weekend track test or run tho, it's more than enough for me to enjoy and satisfy my cravings for racing). Anyways, thank you so much, Guff!!! Thank you for lightening up my day!!!!! Those 3 that you've made into a video means a lot to my whole childhood and eventually became the blueprints for my dreams!!! You have my absolute respect on this one!!!

I lived in Germany for 3 years, went to the track often. i have probably around 30 laps total. Driving in a 2015 Mustang GT, a 2000 Honda S2000, and a 97 Miata. It was an absolute blast, but its not without its dangers. I've never crashed, but there have been many moments where the tail slides out from under you and even witnessing a crash in front of me. no matter how good you may think you are the track always finds a way to humble you.

This is kinda right. The "original" Gesamtstrecke, containing Nordschleife and Südschleife, isn't the same we have today for the 24 hours. Parts of the old Südschleife today are public roads through the Eifel region. The GP track was first raced on in 1984.

umm… in what game? if its gt7 you somehow know nothing about lap records. i did hold the world record for the fastest rwd road car before the latest update in a c7 zr1 at 5:46.something, i have had many records in faster classes, gr.2 at 5:22, super formula at 5:04, gr.1 or lmp1 at 4:54.820 and on the 24h track i can beat a 7:54 in a gt3 car with bop, without a setup and a full tank of gas first try. normally i do relatively consistent 7:50s and with stuff from the tuning shop and a setup i can probably get a 7:20ish time. lately i did a 6:32 in a super formula without a real setup on the 24h track BUT in the night and the car has no lights. on half of the lap you can barely see the white lines at the track (which is absolutely unusable at a speed of almost always above 200kph when you see the track taking a turn, you having to react, the car having to react and then still wanting to hit all apexes and do a fast laptime (if you look for the lines, youre more likely gonna end in a sandtrap in turn 1 about 50 meters off the track). and yes, the other half of the track, you cant even see the lines. so you could almost argue its driving blindfolded

@enzoferrari8980 Жыл бұрын
@Damar Fadlan on nordschleife? since that is only 1.5 seconds faster than irl on complete stock settings, no setup, racing hards and no performance upgrades, this is 100% not a world record. this car can go faster than gt3 cars around the nordschleife and in gt3 WITH BOP i do 6:20s, so the pagani can do laps with 6:1x:xxx. but i will hop in my rig when i finished repairing my car irl and test it
@enzoferrari8980
@enzoferrari8980 Жыл бұрын
@Damar Fadlan okay😂 i tested the zonda, i didnt use more than 15 minutes for setup and driving in total, i dont even know anything about the setup. i screwed up the downforce and only adjusted the suspension stuff by feeling, it was very oversteery on the brake and still i didnt even change the diff and the rear anti roll bar, no gear optimization, i didnt even look at the power graph to see when i should shift… 1st try i threw the car away at pfanzgarten, 2nd try was a 5:54.301 lol

Well said, However...one correction....Laudas acident wasnt the "final reason" to ban the Ring. The decision had been made 1974. Nomatter what would have happend on August 1st 1976, this woud be the last race. When Jackie Stewart lauched his safty campagne, the ring was, as mentioned, taken from the calender for a refit. From 1970-1973 the Ring was "upgraded" However when F1 came back in 1974, they saw that there was no way to make it safe. So they said "We do our race contract and leave"

Prost was the most dominating in the 80's, followed by Piquet closely, then Mansell, Senna, Rosberg, Arnoux, etc.

I watched the VLN and now the NLS on the Nürburgring. I love the Nürburgring 24 Hours and watch as much of it as I can, but the time difference of GMT +2 makes it 9 hours ahead of me, I'm GMT-7 in Arizona, USA. As you can tell I watch a lot of European sports car races and GT races as well. I have the VLN course on my copy of the Nürburgring in iRacing as well as the N24 layout. I have tried for years to learn those track layouts and I just can't get the rhythm of the track down without crashing on almost every lap. It's been the only track that in over 25 years of sim racing I have not been able to learn.

I have been around the track both GP and Nordschleife, many a time. The issue nowadays is not so much the track itself but the amount of people using and the lack in their skills. Boy racers, who think that because they have BMW or a GTI they are the next best thing to tackle the track. The often don't follow rules, are slow and or dangerous as they don't follow racing lines and rules and cause accidents to themselves or worse yet others. I used to really look forward to going to the ring and spending a day there, seeing the cars that turned up, talking to like minded people and racing a few laps of my own and afterwards watching from different vantage points around the circuit. By no means, I am trying to toot my own horn here that i have never crashed and that i am better than others, however the important difference is that I would be watching my rear view mirrors as much as the road ahead of me so that if I saw a fast Porsche or whatever flying up behind me, I was smart enough to know my place, indicate that i saw him and that i would stay out of his way. This is just not adopted by the majority these days, who think because they paid their entrance fee, they own as much of the circuit as they like. RANT OVER. APOLOGIES TL:DR - Be respectful to others when racing on a track, read up on rules and racing customs.
