Great work for putting these girls on the grid competing for maybe one day become a regular driver. As a father of four daughters who all race - on two and four wheels - is nice to see the effort is made for including young women to the top of the motorsports. Young girls need to see women in the top of the motorsport that inspire them to become one of them some day

I think it’s a good thing to do of course, and I hope we do get at least one woman racing again in FE. But they’re also putting themselves in potentially an awkward position if they have more and more female tests every year but we don’t end up with a woman on the grid. I still think it’s the right thing to do, even if it does end up just being testing only for years and years. But I really think they need to be looking at a female series run on FE weekends. I think without that, you’ll be very unlikely to get a girl come through from F4 and FE testing.

Formula E should have battery swaps. I cant believe they are actually stopping the race to charge
@ItsDeffoScottАй бұрын
100% agree
@lewis8552Ай бұрын
I think it's because the manufacturers see the fast charge as more road relevant, so want to showcase that tech. Agree though that battery swapping makes more sense, especially in a race setting.
@hippyjasonАй бұрын
Great. Now stop with pho virtue signalling, and put one or two of the fastest gals in a full time race seat. Otherwise, you're just publically playing the DEI card, and trying to score points off of it, despite there being no actual changes to the grid.
@flyaway6671Ай бұрын
Putting one in a seat would be virtue signalling lol, they are no where near fast enough.
@hippyjasonАй бұрын
@@flyaway6671 Well, of course, lol. But if they did (and the lap times don't come) ,then the virtual signalers can STFU about it once and for all, and we can stop hearing about for a decade or so. If one of those women _were_ fast enough _they'd already be in a race seat._
@lewis8552Ай бұрын
I think development role makes more sense. None of them are good enough to be on the grid but they can definitely be developed to being good enough. So hopefully one of the teams take one of the girls on in that sort of role.
@CloxxkiАй бұрын
Why were they 3-4 seconds slower than the men in the same cars? So much noise was made about it supposedly being special that it's equal material albeit a whole different day. Wet track? Less equal equipment after all? I guess the top women are around half a second slower than world champion level drivers like Evans, but not 3-4 seconds. Why does transparency take such a big hit when identity politics and virtue signaling take the stage?
@Becky_CoolingАй бұрын
1. Most of these drivers are at F4 level, if you took any F4 driver and put them in an FE they would probably be slower 2. For most of these drivers this is their first outing in an FE car, whereas almost all the men have been driving FE cars for years. 3. In tests like these, drivers often don't push to the limit, as they don't want to break the car. 4. By commenting here you are telling the KZbin algorithm that this video is good and it should show it to more people.
@somerandomgirlliving4617Ай бұрын
I think it’s also because many of these women have never driven at this track before and for more than half of them it was their first time in a Formula E car, plus they “only” had four hours while the other drivers had like 24. That’s a big difference of track experience. Plus the top 5 at least were quicker than some of the most experienced drivers on the grid. I don’t think you should just cast that away. Overall this was a good step in the right direction, and it’s more than F1 will do. So I think we should see the positives of this test instead of criticizing it.

@@somerandomgirlliving4617 And to add to that, the men had time in the simulator before testing whereas the women didn't due to the last minute re-locating of testing
