FIA want to have its cake and eat it too. The easy solution is to unmic the drivers but no, thats quite popular among fans so lets just demand that the adrenaline pumped drivers also focus on their language. 🤦♂️
@johnclark23105 күн бұрын
So all the drivers need to do is club togerther,, and all swear on air 3 times ahead of a triple header, like in late March. The FIA will have no choice but to hand out 1 month suspensions to all of them, meaning that no one will be able to race for the Japan, Bahrain or Saudi GPs. Given the spectacle of an empty grid,, and drivers refusing ti race as all publicly state that they respect the rules, the FIA will have norhing they can do except bin the rule, and possibly sack the current president

They seriously spent almost a decade growing their American fanbase to the largest it’s ever been, and are going to undo all of that in one single rule change. None of the drivers are going to talk on the radio now. Why would they risk the brain lapse when under stress as it is? But the FIA is right, “no potty language” should definitely be the mental focus of drivers taking turns at 180mph. /s Also: J Dough! 🍞 (iykyk)

Well, its not like the FIA is forced to enforce those regulations, and drivers are also enforced to submit to those regulations. F1 doesn't represent motorsports as a whole, it's just... a set o regulations and a big brand. So FIA getting leverage over drivers in order to protect its brand seems to me just like "playing the game" ; a game played not just by drivers and the FIA but also by teams. In conclusion, i think it's in line with F1 traditions and therefore healthy for the sport, nothing new under the sun and therefore not something that will kill F1.

I personally don’t see a problem with wanting to reduce swearing in F1 and I would personally welcome it. I think there is concern with how these guidelines are written, but I want to get my kids into F1 without exposing them to a slew of inappropriate words. It’s not really a huge issue where most of it is blurted out, but as they get older then they could interpolate easily enough. Drivers swearing on radio that is broadcast kind of shows that it’s ok to speak that way when you’re frustrated which I personally don’t want to encourage in my family. Just offering my thoughts though

Kids are more prone to pick up swear at school or at home than anywhere else because the little kids on the bus I rode school knew plenty and it was from the bigger kids on the bus that they learnt from. This is a sport where the lives of grown men are put on the line driving at more than 200 km doing their job not freaking Disney Channel, it's not for kids in the first place
