It is Jenny who doesn't know what love is. Whenever she experiences emotions that make her feel vulnerable, she tells herself "run Jenny, run"
@HealthAtAnyCostАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind patience with Jenny. I read what you said about wondering if she just got together with Forrest so he would take care of their son, but her saying "I love you," right before she died was genuine and seemed to come from her heart. I believe she had always loved him. Her "Run, Forrest, Run" - her "You don't know what love is," - all of those times she admonished Forrest, were her speaking into a mirror about herself. After watching this movie innumerable times, I find my thoughts about feathers and birds to be the most striking. The feather at the beginning fell where Jenny lived... and flew away where Jenny landed forever. Right as Forrest is walking away from their tree after he was talking to her in her grave, a flock of birds flies to the tree, chirping and singing. Jenny had flown away from a life of pain and sadness, was safe, and was finally, home. Oh, and new subscriber. You have a tender heart. Thank you for that.

29:50 Forrest said "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that." This comes directly from Tom Hanks, that's what he said into the mic while filming.
@daleb1279Ай бұрын
Tom Hanks was so deserving of his Oscar for this performance, not only did he deliver lines with such deep emotion, he actually altered his speech pattern to match the young actor who played younger Forrest because the little boy couldn't shake his accent, so Tom adopted it as the adult Forrest for the rest of the movie.

This is a classic good movie and I still like it but over the years as I grow older I do reflect on the elements of it more often. I seen some videos about why some people really don't like Jenny as a character and in concept practice. And genuinely multitude of them like Replicantphish really bring up some fundamental truths. Yes she had her tragic childhood and all but the way she acts like as a adult and perpetuates her own problems makes it all the more bitter and more unnecessary strife for the man Forrest. Many look at at Jenny the woman and the situation and say "if she wasn't willing to accept me in her prime years when we were young adults why should I be willing to accept her in her worse years if she didn't want me when both me and her were young adults?" Many men don't like a continuous large amount of drama that hasn't be resolved and thay conflicts with each other they don't have the long enduring patience for the way Jenny treated Forrest as a man for years on end. Tragic past or not it doesn't excuse the dysfunctional actions made and most men wouldn't want to endure that kind of relationship. It makes the ending of the film even more bitter due to the kind of long lasting relationship she could have had with Forrest if she didn't squander it for all those decades, she would have taken care of and had and raised a true family and have a good family life. And some men would look at this whole situation and feel in some ways "Have I been taken for a fool all my life?" From their perspective. Some men look at the movie Forrest Gump Jenny's character and behavior as a example and a warning of what type to avoid if they want to find true long lasting happiness and a good woman as a companion all their life. Is Jenny's character tragic? Yes. But would most decent men be patience enough to put up with such a lady who behaves and acts similarly to Jenny for decades on end while having no stable or long enduring family in return? No, most wouldn't and would try to move on to make the best out of their lives with dignity and to respect yourself. What Forrest got was not Jenny when she was in her prime and he did not get the best out of her. He only got the remnants that remained of her and the worse from her, and she died not too long after finally marrying him. Leaving Forrest alone to raise a boy who he didn't know he had that was kept away from him for years. That isn't fair and most men would feel bitterness about experiencing that kind of situation. It's sad but it is a harsh truth both men and women have to be aware of in life and for a life that is better then what happened to Jenny and Forrest if they desire to have long lasting and loving family life and a complementary relationship. A fulfilling good life.

@@tempsitch5632 People want classics... 🤷🏼♀️ And why would someone react to movies that don't get views? I've watched some reactions to some less mainstream movies, and they've got only a tenth, or less of the views that more famous and mainstream movies got. I'm really against suggesting less popular movies, especially when it comes to REALLY small channels like this one. You'd be ruining his chance at getting this channel going. Lt Dan was surprisingly perceptive. He understood Forrest long before he became crippled in Vietnam. When asks (as a joke) if Bubba and Forrest were twins and they look at each other and answer seriously... you can see the realization on Dan's face. He understood in that moment who they were and how to handle them. Later when he joins back up with Forrest to work on the shrimp boat and Forrest says 'but you ain't got no legs Lt Dan' he responds not with anger - but only slight annoyance. He understood that when Forrest said things like that, it was never as a joke at his expense. He had a patience with Forrest that not everyone was able to have.

1. The music royalties alone must have cost a small fortune🤑🤑🤑🤑 2. Kurt Russell did the voice for Elvis. 3. As a retired sailor, boats/ships need a female name. 4. Having gotten his degree Forrest would have gone into the Army as an officer like Lt. Dan. Not a recruit. His ASVAB kills that. 5. He actually saved Lt Dan twice. Once in the field and again to get him out of his post war funk and Dan turned his life around. 6. Normally an enlisted Army person would be fully aware of his/her separation date. 5. Jenny did indeed give him the best gift ever (it wasn't the shoes)😈 8. Jenny died of Hep-C from dirty needles when she was in Caliphony.. 9. It's ironic that Lt. Dan told the guys to take care of their feet because he loses his. 10. At the rally Forrest says, "There's only one thing I can say about Vietnam. Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that." 11. You have had a ride through recent US history and culture. From Elvis, John Lennon, Abby Hoffman to Vietnam and Watergate. Even the jogging craze of the 70's. About the only thing left out was streaking. 12. Observation: Bubba's not a small dude. Forrest carries him with a bullet in his ass. 13. Sometimes, I guess there're just aren't enough rocks"🥺 14. Haley Joel Osmentt/Forrest Jr. steals the show in "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis.🤩 15. Often when he's finishing a segment about death, he ends it by saying "That's all I have to say about that" 16 Keep in mind if Jenny wasn't wasting her life seeking men like her father and was with Forrest he/we wouldn't have had this incredible journey.

What makes Bubba's death more painful is at the beginning he said he was drafted. He didn't join the army because he wanted to, but because he had to.

I have watched at least a dozen ppl react to this video and I think that you were the only one who showed any compassion for Jenny. So many were so hard on her. You seem like a really good person.

With lots of errors along the way I’ve learned to look at anything and everything from both sides of the fence to try and understand the decisions made and why. It’s easy to just group up with others and make a quick judgement. Thank you for being so nice and for watching the vid! I appreciate it much more than leaving a comment can say lol 🤓🤙🏻

A Netflix 10-part miniseries I highly recommend is The Haunting of Hill House. I've seen many reactors react to 2 episodes at a time. So each reaction is about the length of a movie.😊

I have been looking for/and into a few series’ to get into because I’ve mostly just seen a few of the “bigger names” Game of Thrones original, Dexter, Breaking Bad and SOA. I m definitely interested in this

@JJreactsTV cool! I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and I'm a new subscriber. It's a brilliant series. The father in the series is the same actor who played Rlliot in the movie E.T. for reference. ☺️

Second reactor of dozens I've seen of Gump to recognize Bear Bryant! And your insight on the political and cultural history depicted is great. This is a good movie, but not a great film. I have two of those great ones to recommend: the neo-noir LA Confidential and the Coen brothers Best Picture winner, No Country for Old Men, featuring the scariest psychopath in cinema history.
@JJreactsTVАй бұрын
I have received some great suggestions as of late and No country for old men is going on the list for ya! Thank you so much
@flarrfanАй бұрын
@@JJreactsTV Please don't miss LA Confidential. Most cinephiles agree that it was the real Best Picture of 1997, though the Academy award went to a more popular movie about some ship that hit an iceberg more than a century ago. LA Confidential features one of the best twists/reveals in cinema history and was actually named the best film ever made in a recent poll, which is probably going a bit too far. The best film ever made is The Godfather...the best movie of the golden studio era of Hollywood is Casablanca, both of which should also be on your list. Looking forward to more!

1994....the pulp giction & forest gump soundtracks....pretty much EVERYBODY had the two cd's in their cd case....great soundtracks with many, many, many awesome rock songs:)...the 90's were cool, especially after kurt cobain died & a lot of young people gave up on 99's music progressing (becuz kurt was the leading "genius boy" of the era), & they just started listening to a lot of older stuff....anyway, back then u heard those two soundtracks pkayed a lot...they were great

My favorite thing was about Lt. Dan finally making peace with God. So much so, that he was engaged to a Vietnamese woman after going through the Vietnam War. Just shows that he doesn't hold it against that country or race and really has no hate for them.
@JJreactsTVАй бұрын
You know….i had mentioned that but cut it out of the edit because i was not sure if she was Vietnamese and I didn’t wanna look like an ass if she wasn’t but I 100% agree. His turn around was absolutely amazing. I loved his character as a crazed war LT, and also even more when he realized he had been given a second chance
