Jay Prehistoric Pets and his reptile zoo is one of the most well-known figures in reptile history! We were lucky enough to get a private tour of his zoo from Jay himself to hatch baby snake eggs, play with an albino alligator, and more!
Thanks to Jay Brewer!

I love Forrest's content, but am saddened to see him boost Jay's so-called zoo. Jay and his zoo have a horrific history, and he continues to do things that harm his animals. I recommend people check out a video on Cid Dwyer's channel titled "The Problem with Prehistoric Pets and the Reptile Zoo" if they want more info. Forrest... I love ya. Really, your content is awesome. But please be more careful about who you support. Your other content shows so much respect for the animals you interact with. Don't boost someone who has a long (and recent) history of showing zero respect for them at all.

Man, I had more respect for you than this. This is so disappointing that you'd highlight such a toxic and volatile figure in the reptile community on your channel for entertainment and content. Jay bragged to my face that his Eastern Diamondback was obese and that they "like them big around here" while his coworkers were practically freehandling a Gaboon viper while putting it in a cage with another Gaboon and paying no attention to how close their arms were and could have easily of been bitten if the snake chose to. Let alone the insurmountable issues of ethics within his facility, he had several crammed species together, mites, dehydrated animals in display, gross enclosures and more when I decided to give him a chance and visit him. It was awful and the overbreeding he does with Reticulated Pythons alone is a massive issue of ethics that is incredibly detrimental to the exotic keeping community. Definitely went from being one of my more respected people I recommended others to watch to being taken off that list for even associating with such a horrible person and giving them more of a platform by being featured here.

I went recently for the first time and one of his gaboon vipers had mouth rott or something /: I took a pic of it, it’s jaw was hanging on one side an in the back one of the large lizards was so sick it was laying over so lethargic, in an out of consciousness, blood around its mouth, liquid coming out of its nose an I was in shock. I left sad. Tons of the tanks were dirty too, the workers seemed to do jack sh*t there, but talk.

@nw_blessed1404 I'll judge anyone who treats animals the way Jay does from my couch, from my bed, while I'm walking around, or even while I'm caring for my own Reticulated Pythons that I own and care for. Yes, Forrest was a guest at the zoo, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what Jay is doing is wrong- just a set of eyes to see the TINY cages, the obese snakes, the obvious exploitation of Jay's pets, and a nose to smell how bad it is in there (I went to the zoo last year- I was dumbfounded by the smell, the amount of animals in small cages that could barely move, the amount of empty water bowls, the amount of obese pythons, and the amount of underfed animals that were annorexically skinny.) Call me judgey but in this case, I'll judge Jay everyday until he changes and fixes his mistakes. Until then, he's just an animal exploiter in my book.

Yeah RIP Brian. Another good one is Dave Kaufman. My favourite is Dan Mulleary’s DM Exotics channel. It’s totally different than brians or davs videos. Dan imports animals, breeds animals and goes out herping. The types of species he deals with are more obscure and unusual species that you won’t see on other herp channels. Ruperts Reptiles and Davids Feed are good too although they only go out looking for snakes. David often free handles extremely venomous snakes which I didn’t like at first but after watching for a while you can see he really does know what he’s doing. He understands the snakes body language perfectly. Another one I avoid for the same reason I avoid Jays is chandlers wildlife or whatever he calls his channel.

Baby snakes can’t always tear through their shells on their own. Cutting them once the baby snake is fully developed actually raises their chances of survival. Great question!😃
@thelordhelix5193
@thelordhelix5193 3 ай бұрын
That's why you make a small incision. Cutting the entire egg risks killing the animal if its isn't fully developed or causing it stress that can lead to death. What he does is just youtube bait. Look at how snake discovery opens eggs they do it right.@@connerrandall3099
@cherylkoenig5509

@@connerrandall3099 I understand that. But the snake should leave the egg on its own, not be pulled out. Pulling it out can tear the umbilical cord and the snake will bleed to death. I have zero problem with cutting the eggs. I have a problem with pulling them out.

She doesn’t care where on her body you let her… I highly disagree! While different moments can be tolerated, the chances of being bitten due to falsely relating an alligator to a domesticated pet. Even the best of pets are going to have moments they don’t want to be pet or the like. I’m not saying fear them, but it’s never ideal to fully believe any time someone says “Oh yea, these animals are predators, but I can interact with them as though they aren’t that dangerous!” They are dangerous.
