Four Tennessee men are facing a litany of federal and state charges for killing trophy sized white-tailed deer primarily off Fort Campbell Military Installation. Trespassing in the area where the crimes were committed is prohibited, but wooded habitat and a lack of hunting pressure creates an ideal home for mature and impressive bucks.

Tennessee and Kentucky agencies, US Fish and Wildlife, and Fort Campbell military police worked together to investigate what has apparently been years of poaching activity as the suspects actually risked their own lives by sneaking onto the impact area of Fort Campbell where the military has munitions training. Despite the dangers of entering an area where unexploded ordinance is common, the lure of bucks with massive antlers apparently created an overwhelming temptation.

I love how they think the state owns all the deer. You guy leave trash around for deer to get tangled up in and that's OK. You guys are really something

When I was stationed at Fort Campbell it was over run with deer. I mean they were everywhere. They were lucky they weren't shot at or blown up sneaking around the back 40 without any knowledge of ongoing training.

So they got caught hunting and taking the kings deer? They weren't spotlighting or baiting more that likely they got caught by the man who was doing what they were doing. I mean if no one was aloud in there why was there a game warden in there risking life and limb?

this is good news. I'm from south america and poaching has pushed wildlife back in the last 5 years. some of the animals are already near extinct.

As the Economy continues to fail poaching will become a bigger problem. mandatory sentencing and much bigger fines are needed to ward off what happened during the great depression. 30's- 40's.

Well judging bye the amount of mounts they had made and all the money that must have cost and the fact they where only shooting bucks I'd say these guys were not hungry . If another depression takes place and your family starts to starve , I hope your the first to get caught and they throw the book at you .

We need officers, like these, that mean business, in NC! Too much poaching going on here, and a lot of it is supported by officers issuing deprivation permits, then turning a blind eye to the permit holder taking advantage of the permit! Also, if you're someone important or wealthy, you can do what you want without repercussions. The little peasants like us normal, law abiding people, are the ones who suffer, not having the resources that these poaching cowards deplete!

Sad for all the mature bucks and genetics they took away from the area!!!! I honestly feel sick knowing these guys were wasting all that meat ,that's ridiculous and sad knowing this is how animals go instinct!!! I feel a animal shouldn't be harvest if you're not got to eat it, have respect for the animal that God has gave us to feed our families!!!!!
