I love Florida parks. They sure do them right. This one is really nice and right on the beach. Can't beat that at all. I am a history nerd so love the fort. That is cool how they did it up. Like the lighthouse as well. Well I saw the jelly fish. Want no part of that. lol Looks like a couple already paired up there. lol I do like the the birds though. Very cool. This looks like a killer campground. I for sure want to check this place out at some point. Sites look to be a very nice size and spread out a little. I really like the tree covered sites. The shade during the hot months would be a great way to stay cooler. Plus it gives more privacy. Bathhouse looks nice as well. Good video y'all. Off to the zoo talk to y'all later.
@DownsizingMakesCents3 жыл бұрын
William, this is another tough one to get reservations, but it’s worth it. We had the only private site on the beach side. The fort was amazing. But I’m so annoyed we missed the up close lighthouse tour. Next time. That’s the first time I’ve seen a jelly like that 😬 The tree area supposedly has a bigger bug problem and worse internet. But it would give shade. The bathhouses are pretty new. They listed repainted lines on the roads. Super clean and well maintained park. You would love it, Alice

Jenna, we definitely don’t choose beach- we just got lucky. That’s where the cancellation was. But I would choose beach again even if we couldn’t get the site we had and it was less private. Ah, the memories of both the park and the towns. Loved it. As you noted will be returning - and I don't blame you - I'm sure you will be paying attention to the times on the lighthouse. While you focus on Florida, perhaps consider a day trip for the Georgia side of the river. As you look across the river, that is the southern tip of Cumberland Island National Seashore. Technically, there is primitive camping carrying everything in with reserve able sites, but access to the island is by passenger ferry from St Marks at the National Park headquarters or private boat - no cars. In addition to Dungeness Mansion Ruins (Carnegie winter home), the island is noted for the wild horses. A lot of hiking, but definitely a good daytrip diversion with great photo ops.
