My great great grandpa fought here where he captured and became a POW. He died in 1865, right at the end of the war. I'm working hard trying to piece together my ancestors, I came across this video while doing my research about the battles he fought. My uncle fought in WW2, and served in the Navy on the USS North Carolina. I was named after him. I'm thinking about creating a vlog to document and share my family history here on KZbin.

My G. Grand pa fought there too, was wounded, captured, and was sent to pt lookout maryland for the duration of the war. He made it home to Bladen ct. NC on 4th of July , 1865…

Left out that Gen bragg basically gave the fort to the federals by refusing to send Gen Hokes men to assist the fort
