I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. He put a layer of water proof paper over it to keep out moisture, but I had the same thought. He doesn't seem to be concerned about angles of the siding to be slanted to help drainage. Maybe they have little rain in his location. Also, he failed to caulk the seams between the panels.

Davor - In the U.S. we call them a Sliding T Bevel Square. Also you should be able to find one at most home supply stores and definitely on Amazon. You still need to attach the batons as you must have ait flow behind the cladding. If you screw the cladding directly flat onto existing timber you will have no airflow and will encourage damp problems.

Well, the insulation material that he used will cut down on the air conditioning and heating cost of the house. I can't tell if the siding is vinyl or aluminum, but aluminum gets hot fast

late reply. It's not causing environmental disaster. Why are ppl acting as if plastic is toxic or something. it just doesn't biodegrade in reasonable time period. To speed up the process you can dump all plastic on tall mountain for example. 🤷‍♂

Youre lucky enough to live in a 1st world country, you dont see the problems. Step outside to a poor country and dam, plastic pollution is one of the biggest problems youll face.

Yes the sides weigh next to nothing they don't need hefty fixings and the cladding itself is being fixed with 40mm screws it's solid it's only really going into the sides to make a nice looking joint...
