I like this movie. I wish there was a series done on this movie like The Best Man Final Chapters because i have a lot of questions about what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. Did DJ’s buzz increase due to beating up Skinny Black? did their beef escalate or was it squashed? Did DJ get signed to a major labeled after being released from jail? Here comes the fun facts: Terrance Howard & Anthony Anderson were also in Big Momma’s House, Terrance Howard & Taraji P. Henson were also in Four Brothers, Empire & they’ll be on the series Fight Night streaming on Peacock in September, Terrance Howard & Paula Jai Parker were also in Idlewild, Terrance Howard & Ludacris were also in Crash & Anthony Anderson & Paula Jai Parker were also in My Baby’s Daddy. Here comes a sad fact: Terrance Howard was only paid $12,000 for this movie. Next week’s review is Double Jeopardy.

The whole theme is I don’t like this lifestyle but I don’t know what else to do. Even though it was rough, DJ made it! Shug was definitely a ride or die for DJ. I don’t think Shug’s baby was Deejay’s. She’s only “sitting down” because she’s pregnant. There’s a point into which Deejay’s talking to Key, about Keshia-the baby, and her dreams and goals and aspirations. He brings up the fact that her father is unknown. But she still deserves a chance. When he finally claimed Shug- he assumed responsibility for her. Hence the whole, “look out for Shug”..

Hey, my Memphis sis! I remember when this movie was being filmed, I stayed down the street from Crystal Palace, and they had Third Street, so blocked off! Then, when the movie came out how Memphis was going up and was already playing the songs, and the movie was just put in theatres. Hustle & Flow was one of my go to movies for a while and I remember around the same year that this came out 2005 there was also a documentary about a Harlem organization called GEMS and it was created to help girls get out of prostitution and one of the founders gave a speech saying how one of the biggest movies of the year was Hustle & Flow and the hit song it's Hard Out Here for a pimp she said no it's Hard Out Here for a pro or something like that and it made me look at this movie differently
