What are you hoping to get out of the distortion by boosting it? Hexdrive will be good if you want more of a solo boost, I'd pick the tempest for a classic tightening overdrive

Not a fan of boost/preamp/od pedals into virtual amp. The gain staging gets tricky with an interface etc in the chain.
