Royal Enfield, the world’s oldest motorcycle brand, is back with a modern twist on a very 60s idea of a British twin. Strangely enough, it attracts as much attention outside a retirement home as it does nestled amongst hipsters downtown. What's the deal here? [Details below]

I'm going to be honest here, I know I could get a more powerful and modern machine for the money, I know it's heavy and the tires are a bit to skinny, but man, I test drives this machine 3 days ago, I haven't been that happy since I was a kid. Currently I own a Honda cb190r, which I consider an expensive machine for around 2600 dollars(in my country I make 500 dollars a month which is more than you can earn with a university degree) and this little machine pulled me out depression and anxiety so much! Now since I've driven the conti 650 I'm in love... This is really my dream bike, I'm currently saving as much as I can to buy it, I want to have this bike with me until I die and may be if I ha e any children, give them this bike. Seen your review had me with a big fucking grin on my face, the editting, the script. THE BIKE! I know that maybe for you, 5000 dollars is not much but man, this bike is the dream for people like me. I thank you so much for this video. Keep it up!!!

47 hp at the crankshaft is not too bad for what is an air cooled bike (sure it has an oil cooler as well but basically it's air cooled). If you want more power there are big bore kits to take the capacity to 750 or 800+ cubic centimetres and high lift cams are also readily available not to mention more alternative silencers and complete exhaust systems than you could poke a stick at. I love my GT but it's not perfect for me i.e. I'd welcome a 'what gear am I in now' indicator, self cancelling indicators, lower seat height and a lot less weight. Still for the price it's a wondrous thing.

@@suraj250684 It was a great bike in terms of shifting but it had its issues for me, mainly its height and weight. I'm about 6 ft tall and it was a pain to walk at any given point. It's quite a bit taller than the Continental and weighing 450 LBs wet, it's top heavy. This also gave me a bit of a wobble at highway speeds, anything over about 70 mph (and I maxed it out at 100 mph a few times). It just didn't like it. I think the Continental would fair better being lower to the ground, but the Interceptor just doesn't have the power to push its less aerodynamic, high standing body at those speeds. Also, on my trade in - the guys were convinced the bike was slow on the starter, that's just kind of how it is. (they also all come with a trickle charger hook up, at least the dealer I went to sold them all that way) That clutch though, AMAZING. I have a Z650 now, and man, I miss how easy I could shift. Yeah, I have a wet slipper, but it's still not as fine tuned.

The best advert Royal Enfield never made. Your film quality is phenomenonal. My dark secret is that I loved my Enfield Bullet, far more roadholding than power, felt like a classic, lovely engine note, and learning a whole new way to ride because of the stupidly heavy flywheel which made changing up and using flywheel inertia a far better way to accelerate than using the twist grip! The finest way to connect with the British countryside on a bright, chilly Sunday morning if you want to experience more than a tunnel of high speed adrenaline with blurry peripherals. There's a time for speed, and a time for seeing, smelling and feeling the countryside, and that is more fun on a slower bike.

Issue is that it struggles to stay at 70, if you're travelling any distance (especially if young people like me are getting bikes as we can't afford to have a car as well on average) they need to do a 400-500cc with 30ish hp. 47HP is propably suited towards the EU-Markets, where you've got a "A2" license, wich limits you to bikes with 48HP ... unless you have the "A" license, wich allows you to ride all bikes

Australia has Learners Permits & probationary licences limited to 250cc OR LAMS ( which is based on power to weight ratio from 251cc to 656cc of less than 150 kilowatts per tonne). Full licences are unlimited. So bigger guys can legally ride physicaly bigger bikes on thier " L or P plates". Actual intelligence from a government department!! I must admit that a Royal Enfield is now on my radar when I finally retire my 1981 XJ750 - After all, after 40 years its getting a bit unreliable and I no longer enjoy working on it every second weekend. All of the newer bikes I have test ridden had no "soul" ( more "appliances" than motorbikes ) or just plain scared the cr#p out of me (much closer to 60 than 16 ), so finding out RE have actually made a reliable bike has me looking on with interest.

I actually have massive respect for royal enfield for their color selections. Even in Nepal when I see a royal enfield that is other than white or black it always manages to grab my attention and turn my head even though Ive seen Royal Enfields thousands of times. The choices they offer is mwah.

In a somewhat similar manner, this channel has come on leaps and bounds from its almost apologetic, gawkish beginnings. Probably the best review video of this bike....already! Great editing, and content and delivery.

What a stellar production. I think the main thing to remember with Enfields is the price to quality. Its extremely hard to beat and fills a gap in the market, particularly for riders on an A2 license in the UK. I've owned a classic 500 and even though its hilariously slow, its well made, solid and has charm by the bucket load. Routinely came back to tbe bike to find people taking photos of it. Loved the video, just subscribed.

Never knew any of that stuff till now, only knew I loved the look, price, and a seemingly great starter bike. Thanks for the info, loved the content. Amazing

So in 1970 I bought a '64 Interceptor 750. Great fun to ride if you didn't mind ding a tune up every 400 miles, having to use two hands to operate the cutch, and carburetor jets that needed replacement every thousand feet of altitude change. After that it was all Japanese and German for me. All road bikes until two years ago when I bought the BMW 310GS DualSport. It convinced me that Indian build quality was for real. Two weeks ago I purchased the INT 650 Mark2. I could not be happier. Build quality is superior, ride is exquisite, styling is gorgeous, and after 56 years of riding I feel like a kid again. Thanks RE!!

Loved this bike from the drop. All sweet spot. A beautiful base to build on. E.g. big bore kit, re map, twin brakes up front, new shock. Tubless wires. Retro style half fairing. Exhausts. Life is all about working towards the thing you want to be. With something to look forward to do after. This bike gives many things to look forward too in you're own style. Not an iphone at all (touch wood) And at the right price in-line with most wages. Not just the stock brokers.
