47 hp at the crankshaft is not too bad for what is an air cooled bike (sure it has an oil cooler as well but basically it's air cooled). If you want more power there are big bore kits to take the capacity to 750 or 800+ cubic centimetres and high lift cams are also readily available not to mention more alternative silencers and complete exhaust systems than you could poke a stick at. I love my GT but it's not perfect for me i.e. I'd welcome a 'what gear am I in now' indicator, self cancelling indicators, lower seat height and a lot less weight. Still for the price it's a wondrous thing.

@@suraj250684 It was a great bike in terms of shifting but it had its issues for me, mainly its height and weight. I'm about 6 ft tall and it was a pain to walk at any given point. It's quite a bit taller than the Continental and weighing 450 LBs wet, it's top heavy. This also gave me a bit of a wobble at highway speeds, anything over about 70 mph (and I maxed it out at 100 mph a few times). It just didn't like it. I think the Continental would fair better being lower to the ground, but the Interceptor just doesn't have the power to push its less aerodynamic, high standing body at those speeds. Also, on my trade in - the guys were convinced the bike was slow on the starter, that's just kind of how it is. (they also all come with a trickle charger hook up, at least the dealer I went to sold them all that way) That clutch though, AMAZING. I have a Z650 now, and man, I miss how easy I could shift. Issue is that it struggles to stay at 70, if you're travelling any distance (especially if young people like me are getting bikes as we can't afford to have a car as well on average) they need to do a 400-500cc with 30ish hp. The best advert Royal Enfield never made. Your film quality is phenomenonal. My dark secret is that I loved my Enfield Bullet, far more roadholding than power, felt like a classic, lovely engine note, and learning a whole new way to ride because of the stupidly heavy flywheel which made changing up and using flywheel inertia a far better way to accelerate than using the twist grip! The finest way to connect with the British countryside on a bright, chilly Sunday morning if you want to experience more than a tunnel of high speed adrenaline with blurry peripherals. There's a time for speed, and a time for seeing, smelling and feeling the countryside, and that is more fun on a slower bike.

Australia has Learners Permits & probationary licences limited to 250cc OR LAMS ( which is based on power to weight ratio from 251cc to 656cc of less than 150 kilowatts per tonne). Full licences are unlimited. So bigger guys can legally ride physicaly bigger bikes on thier " L or P plates". Actual intelligence from a government department!! I must admit that a Royal Enfield is now on my radar when I finally retire my 1981 XJ750 - After all, after 40 years its getting a bit unreliable and I no longer enjoy working on it every second weekend. All of the newer bikes I have test ridden had no "soul" ( more "appliances" than motorbikes ) or just plain scared the cr#p out of me (much closer to 60 than 16 ), so finding out RE have actually made a reliable bike has me looking on with interest.
