The odometer sticker reminds me of the days before I had a garage and needed a permit to park on the street. I received dozens of tickets totalling thousands of dollars for failure to display a valid permit. When I went to court, the by-law officer testified at some length that he did indeed see the permit, and confirmed that it was valid, but that it was not displayed in the lower portion of the windshield on the driver's side, as clearly stipulated in the by-law and on the permit itself. When the judge asked why I did not display the permit as required, I explained that the motorcycle in question had neither a driver's side nor a windshield. After a deep sigh, he proceeded to lecture the officer on how he needed to use some common sense and consider that the letter of the law is not always aligned with the spirit of the law.

Regarding slungshots, I used to occasionally ride with Legion of Sin members. They're a CoC recognized two patch club in the San Francisco Bay Area that blends the Biker and BDSM lifestyles, so some of them rode with single tails (basically bullwhips) on their bikes, usually looped above the triple. Slung shots are a felony in California, and one rider that I know from LoS was arrested for it. The cop didn't believe that it was only going to be used on consenting adults. BTW, when used for genuine mayhem the heavy grip part is swung, much like a flail. It can break windows, mirrors, and bones when used that way.

Love your videos man, can you please do a video testing abrasion resistance of different mesh jackets? I would really like to know how abrasion resistant Klim's Karbonite mesh is. The only information about Karbonite that I can find from Klim is that it's "750% stronger than polyester or nylon mesh". Stronger being such a vague word, it would be very helpful to see if that just means it has a higher tensile strength or if it provides any real benefits before spending $350 on it.

Ok, my take on this video: I added blind spot mirrors under the OEM ones and use every ride; I added extra LED turn signals in addition to LED replacements on my Wife’s ‘09 Vstrom 650 so as to be seen better (for that Panama trip); Kawasaki didn’t anticipate anyone would ride their 2003 Voyager over 100K so my bike now has only 4K miles. I have a Ram mount for my phone (doesn’t have the charger feature) and it has been used all the way to the country of Panama without any sun issues (rain yes). Thanks for your reviews and educational videos. When Canada finally opens up for tourists from down under I hope to swing by the neighborhood.

for me the best illegal mod was slapping strong LED light bulbs. When you are driving fast on two wheels in the dark, you cant afford to miss anything on the road. and good visibility adds confidence. probably doesnt make the cars against you very happy, but thats a sacrifice i am willing to make :D
