the [insert anything] zonewars fad was actually fun. Aside from the absolute slop some were fun to play. I recall playing "Balkan Zone Wars" and it was pretty tame and nice. Everyone spawned in random balkan country flag huts and each kill would play different balkan songs

Dude, during the winter of 23, i spent a whole day stuck at home because of the ice outside. My friends and i spsnt 5 hours on jamacian zonewars and its one of my most favorite memories

As a jamaican Jamaica Zonewars Was not racist and majority of the jamaican fortnite players actually liked that map. We played it pretty often tbh it wasnt even racist at all because trust me we dont care lol

Of course the block 2.0 had its own controversy. You could vote using gold on which creative building would be used to replace certain building in tilted towers in chapter 3. However it really backfired cause you can vote multiple times and every time you voted you get some mini shield pots. There was a lot of players just using this just to get more shield and not making a legitimate vote since it always defaulted to highlight only one selection and the buildings that was used were chosen unfairly

My least favorite part about a ton of copycat maps is the use of ai generated images for the menu thumbnaul. Using those reeks of laziness. I am sure that making renders for your game mode thumbnail can't be that hard, and neither is using photoshop. It's also the reason why I never touched Jamaica zone wars. The use of an ai image they used didn't make for a good first impression and I'm not one to support the use of ai images.

What about the Harris Waltz map in the US 2024 election? It was a political propaganda creative map with questionable items like LGBTQ posters on the walls in the subway. Regardless if you are left, center, or right having any political propaganda map in a kids game is wrong.
