I've been waiting for this video for so long, wow I didn't expect you to literally cover every version, I imagine the huge amount of work this must have gone into, you're amazing!! The Nintendo Switch version still looks great, at times it's even comparable to the Xbox One S, it's even impressive. The base PS4 version still handles very well, I've never noticed that there's a pretty noticeable graphical improvement between the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions I always thought the difference was just in resolution. ( same for Xbox One vs Xbox One X ) The Next-Gen versions are by far the best, you can see a significant improvement compared to all others. Overall Epic showed that Unreal Engine 5 is great and is easy to scale to any platform, I play Fortnite on PS4 base and since switching to Unreal Engine 5 I noticed that even on PS4 base the game has improved significantly, loadings so much better, the game has less pop-in in the scenes and the frame-rate drops have decreased a lot.

The first reflection section is a great example of screenspace reflections. The top of those shiny hills aren't visible on the screen so the tips of those hills in the reflection aren't shown either. Ray-Tracing, which is seen on pc, is a rendering system that reflects all objects in the scene even if the reflected object isn't seen in the screen view. Hope this comment educates those who are curious.

Just to add, the RT is doing much more than just reflections in this game. It also uses: RT shadows - Real time shadows to reduce shadow flickering and improve accuracy. (Although I must admit, it doesn't seem to be calculating the softness of some tree shadows very accurately here). RT Global illumination - includes realistic bounced, indirect lighting from all light sources such as the sun to lighten areas realistically. This one adds a huge amount of immersion to indoor scenes. RT ambient occlusion - to accurately shade areas below and around objects at a more granular level than SSAO. Ray-tracing is all about accuracy, realism and image stability. That last one I believe is most important, avoiding shadow flickering and the dreaded SSR artifacts like you mentioned is so important to a distraction free gaming experience.

3:06 if you set the shadows to high or medium instead of epic on pc, you get that crisp look. It disables distance dependant shadows.. which look blurrier the farther they are from the object casting them (as it happens irl)

All tough shadows on medium look very bad, and the shadow render distance is very short, only about 25 meters. They fixed it in Chapter 4, now even medium shadows look decent, but it's far more demanding.

The Xbox One almost has the same resolution as the Nintendo Switch version, the age is really starting to take its toll on the Xbox One side, even the shadow quality seems to be inferior compared to the Switch version, the price of 60fps is too heavy for this console. Also I never noticed how the PS4 Pro has a very noticeable graphical improvement over the base PS4 (the same goes for the Xbox One X compared to the Xbox One S ), the draw-distance is better, the shadow quality is better and some textures are also much better, I always thought that the only differences from the base console to the Pro/X consoles were just in resolution and more frame-rate stability. Epic really did an excellent job optimizing the game, all platforms are amazing considering their limitations.

Hay que mencionar que la version de Switch recibió una actualicion de GPU exclusiva en los finales del capitulodo 2 que le aumento la resolución y mejoría en los fps, incluso estuvo en un comunicado de Epic. Y ahora con Unreal Engine 5 aumentó más.

Didn’t happen until Chapter 3 on PS5. My theory is it’s due to the texture refresh, it’s not a graphical issue, it’s a data streaming issue when the map first loads. It’s not much of a problem and I appreciate the higher quality textures

it used to but the game has gotten so hard to run they had to decrease it, do u notice how the ps4 would never drop from 60fps in chapter 1 but nowadays it drops a lot

Xbox SS has a bad optimization. the device is more powerfull than PS4 Pro and an architecture more optimized than PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. But in 60 fps, XSS has almost same settings and a resolution lesser than PS4 Pro

Possibly Windows 10 overhead. I believe PS games are coded closer to the metal with it's low-level api.

@@stormyandcold SSD + largely better CPU (2,3 GHz vs 3,8 GHz) + GDDR6 + 4 Tflops vs HDD + a little more RAM but GDDR5 + 6 Tflops TFlops aren't the unic factor

@@floflo8751 It is the factor when it's 50% more performance, and this is with the knowledge you can't directly compare different architectures. However, 50% is still 50%. The CPU in XSS does make a difference, but, only in frame-rates. The One X is more capable in terms of resolution. What we have is One X is the 4k/30 machine, while XSS is the under 4k/60 machine with next-gen effects and faster loading etc. Pros and cons to both. However, I'd choose XSS out of the two for future proofing.

Eso es lo que te venden, pero la mayoría de veces no son resolución nativa, lo que el pone es la resolución real a la que corre.

SW inestable con los 30 fps (con bajones importantes), lo mismo One, PS4 con 60 fps caídas de fps (No tan notorios como SW) por momentos. PS4 Pro y XOneX los 60 fps son mas estables (sobre todo en XOneX ). Sobre la next-gen tanto PS5 Y XSERIES X; sólidos 60 fps y en el modo 120 fps ambas consolas tienen un rendimiento igual muy pocos bajones de frames pero nada serio. Sobre Smartphone los fps disponibles dependen solo del modelo del celular, por ejemplo Fornite en Samsung Galaxy S10 va a 60 fps y en Huawei Nova 5T 30 fps. Gracias por la comparación, sin duda en consolas la next-gen lidera pero PC sobre todo en tema de reflejos les da una dura paliza. Saludos

@Manuel Medina que? desde que Epic mejoro la calidad gráfica y el rendimiento del juego en el Capítulo 2, el juego va mucho mejor, incluso hubo un momento donde el juego llegó a 40Frames, Al menos así fue para Ray, en fin, el punto es que el juego corte mucho mejor que antes, por lo cual, lo que estás diciendo es erróneo.

No es cierto, en switch va muy estable. Nunca he tenido problemas de frames más que en el inicio antes de subir al autobús que todos están bailando; pero el juego va bien

A TON of the resolutions are wrong. I can tell you that switch is 720p handheld, 1080p docked, and series s is 1440p.

Graficamente no hay muchos, pero si en optimizaciones la cual mejoró en todas las plataformas y añadieron mejores fisicas para la ropa de tu skin y para los arboles que ahora los mas gruesos solamente se pueden caer y aplastar jugadores y construcciones, la gama baja como switch, pcs humildes y smartphones fueron los mas beneficiados con el cambio de engine ya que quedo bien optimizado la gama alta ya estaba bien por lo que no hay muchos cambios

Bro literalmente pasar el juego de un motor a otro no significa que se va a ver notablemente mejor, son las mismas texturas, modelos, etc... donde si puede que se note en en ciertos filtros o trucos de reescalado y en el rendimiento y optimizacion.

@@Kreepypasta No mejoran las gráficas, quién te dijo eso? Lo que tienen al cambiar de motor es más herramientas para la optimización del juego y sí pueden hacer mejoras gráficas pero eso llevaría más tiempo pues el juego fue pensado para el UE4, además que las plataformas de pasada generación y muchas gpu's no lo correrían o se perdería el crossplay, y pues eso no les conviene.

@@fucktugal_.y._fucktalunya Me imagino que es por que tiene el trazado de rayos activado, que básicamente hace las sombras, reflejos e iluminación idénticos a los de la vida real, pero eso tiene un costo de rendimiento muy elevado, y por eso las consolas no lo tienen activado en Fortnite particularmente, aunque si lo pueden tener en ciertos juegos.

@@rivariz9125 Raytracing looks like the medium preset for shadows. RTX is almost useless in Fortnite but the reflections are nice.
