I would say a counterpoint for him not having a unique face model, is that only a tiny portion of his face will be shown and in gameplay you're going to be looking at his back most of the time. It makes sense to have a unique face model for Superman because he doesn't wear a mask.

The first few collab skins from 2019 all have "outfit" in their name, and are built on top of a Default skin for some reason. That includes the original "Black Widow Outfit" and "Star Lord Outfit" skins, in addition to the two original Batman skins. I think the idea was that you're not actually playing as the character, but rather someone dressed up as them? I'm not really sure. Once collabs became a non-stop mainstay in 2020 with Deadpool, Captain American, Aquaman, and eventually that entire Marvel season, they dropped the whole "outfit" thing, and just made generally accurate models of the characters.

No, it's true. That used to just be how collab skins were. It would always be a fortnite character dressed up as the collab character. That's why they were called outfits, same with every other skin in the game, they all used to be called outfits because they were default's with different clothing. @@UchihaMirage

Basically during that era of fortnite almost all skins in general used the same character model (underneath) I kinda liked it because it had consistency with all the skins The fortnite art style has long since shifted from it. 100% agree. The original Batman skin really does feel outdated in comparison to modern crossover skins. It’s also mildly frustrating that the newer Batman skins are much more up to date, but aren’t standard designs for him. It’s a shame because Fortnite's artists go crazy with their original designs for standard look comic characters. Like TMNT recently looks incredible, Leonardo is like my favorite skin in the game right now. Makes me wonder how the TMNT skins would have looked like if they came out back in chapter 1. They probably would have looked like cuddle team leader, just a regular default character wearing a turtle costume and mask, kinda like Jonesy wearing a Batman suit like the first Batman skin.

TMNT is mish mash of everything because TMNT themeselves is mish mash, while Batman mostly had one singular look in comics + Batfleck fans that's why Comic Book outfit looks way it looks. On the other hand Flash fans or Aquaman fans have strongly live action coded outfits, same for most of Marvel characters unless it is "Fortnite original"s which always look okay at best. While Comics Batman is in Golden Middle between comics and modern comics and Batfleck. Making it one of the best licensed skins in general.

THANK YOU! I’ve been talking about wanting Epic to add an illustrated shading style to Batman for months now. If they had made a Batman skin today, he’d definitely have it. As for them adding Robert Pattinson, it probably won’t happen since Robert Pattinson genuinely dislikes Fortnite. But with enough money and persuading, it could happen. After all, if DC wants that money then it’s not up to Robert Pattinson and he won’t stop it from happening.

If we get an updated Batman skin (as opposed to them just updating the one that already exists) I think the best way to do it would be to make it a quest pack, where you buy the skin and only have one suit (say, for instance, the first appearance suit) and also unlock unique quests that will give you the other suits as styles. As for what suits, the first appearance and an updated version of the classic comic outfit would both be a given; I think having Rebirth, the blue and gray suit with the yellow oval emblem, and the zurr en arrh outfits would also be pretty good choices

Considering that the 85th anniversary of Batman is coming up this year, now might be the perfect time to add more skins relating to Batman. I personally want Battinson to be added, as it is my favorite live-action interpretation and Arkham Knight did him dirty (I also think it'd be really funny if his glider was just him in a wingsuit). As for comic designs a skin based on Batman: Hush would be really cool. It's simple, and blue/grey is a superior color scheme to black/grey. I just don't want to see any more New 52 designs, they stink. I am still baffled as to why they didn't continue the Teen Titans set. We got Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy, even Deathstroke. But no Robin or Cyborg.

I don’t think the standard Batman suit is that bad, but the zero point suit is such an upgrade but I think it’s a shame they didn’t just add the new head model onto the old Batman costume (or if they want to be greedy about it force you to buy another comic book style Batman suit with the right head)

Although on paper I think it’s weird having Batman in a game that encourages using guns for gameplay, I like how they restrain themselves from giving Batman a bat-themed firearm. Instead they gave him a makeshift pickaxe. Personally, I think his tools should’ve been a pair of armored gloves that effectively play the same as a pickax but have different animations to make it look as if you’re throwing punches and kicks, but maybe that’s asking a bit too much. Honestly, although I’ve never really played Fortnite except for one or two times with my younger brother, all of the marvel/DC costumes do you kind of tempt me to give it a shot. There would be some kind of fun to be had pretending to be one of my favorite superheroes as I attempt to take out the competition

Didn't see anyone mention this, but they actully did update the comic book outfit for the DC trinity loading screen when Wonder Woman came out. They added glowing eyes and changed the gauntlets. Wish they'd at least release that updated version as a style since it's already done.

I've had the same issues with the cowls and capes on the batman skins for years but it always felt like nitpicking, it's really funny that the batman who laughs is like the only one of them that's perfect 😭. This video almost perfectly encompasses my thoughts on the situation, it'd be cool to get a new skin similar to the comic book outfit but with the same quality of modern collabs, (ideally with longer ears and a big ass cape similar to the darth vader skin lol)

Hopefully they will update the skin and possibly add a new skin for batmans 85th anniversary this year. Fortnite has recently updated the John wick skin to add his 1st and 4th film suits despite no new film announced or anything coming. They rarely if not never update collab skins the only other skin that was updated were the Harley Quinn skins due to the birds of prey film coming out. If the original skins don’t get updated, they would most likely add new skins for Batman day this year, I’m personally hoping a Batman Beyond skin. It would make no sense for Fortnite to do neither.

A lot of old skins (both collabs and original skins) need a few touch-ups in my opinion. I would love to see them go back and tweak some of the early anime skins like Goku and Vegeta to make them look a bit better. They already proved they could make Goku's face look better with Goku Black, so fixing Goku's original skin couldn't be too hard. I'm not really too much of a DC or Batman fan, but It's hard to unsee Jonesy in the batman costume after now seeing it. Definitely think it needs a few tweaks there, and it's shocking there isn't a cape glider that interacts with a cape back-bling yet.
