The "ACOG" on the AUG looked so different because back in the late 60s/early 70s when the game takes place is when the AUG was first being adopted. The original AUG and honestly many guns at the time were only in their first variants where picantiny rails didn't yet exist and most rifles had built in iron sights like all guns up to that point. The rail system and attachments were in their infancy. What makes the AUG unique is that rather than standard built in iron sights like on the M16/AK47/etc, the AUG opted for a far less common system, being a built in bespoke scope. So when you select the ACOG attachment for the AUG you're actually just selecting the factory-standard 1st generation AUG.

The map is called "Hangar", and yeah, it would be cool if people could actually play the DLC maps. I play Black Ops 1 on PS3, and the only DLC pack I have is "First Strike", which has MP maps Kowloon, Berlin Wall, Discovery, and Stadium. I barely find anybody playing those maps, and when I do find lobbies with people on those maps, a lot of time the lobby isn't even full

For me the nostalgia isn’t just the game play but the era of time in my life. I was young and had a family a beautiful house. Life was good back then. I used to play all night when my girl went to work and the kids were asleep. My brother in laws would sometimes come over and we would have a big game night with pizza and snacks. Those times are gone and everyone is off doing their own thing. Life goes on and the memories is all we have.

A fun set of streaks I would run in this game were all the airdrop crate streaks but you HAD to throw them out as soon as you earned them. Turns regular TDM into a slight objective mode in a way. Protect the drop zone.

AUG was a great gun. On release, it was just a famas RPM with more recoil unfortunately. But the famas nerf Summer 2010 brought it into relevancy. Now you have a gun w same fire rate as famas, can hip fire better, and ADS slightly faster!

The AUG is one of my favorite guns in Black Ops, especially in Zombies. Unfortunately, I I haven't unlocked it in Multiplayer yet, but when I pick it up from someone else, it feels so satisfying to shoot people with. I also use it a lot in zombies (for some reason, that's the weapon I get out of the box the most), and when you pack-a-punch it, it becomes a monster

There's no ACOG in this game by the way. It's SP-1 scope but the devoloper think it's the same thing so, RIP Tryarch. On the AUG, is A1 1.5x scope. That's the first built in scoped-carry handle for the AUG A1 in real-life.

I remember watching Xcalizorz's Black Ops content (back before he was royally screwed over by Machinima) and taking after him by exclusively using "bad" weapons like the Olympia and Dual Skorpions. I still love those kinds of setups but these days I definitely playing the game the way it was intended do, with guns like the Galil and AUG. Feels good!

The "ACOG" on the AUG is different because it is not an ACOG, it is a Steyr optic designed for the AUG ACOG is a trijicon brand for medium range scopes I have a theory that trijicon was probably paying activision to call every medium range scope an ACOG back then (not to mention the fact that they had no visual magnification)
