I feel like I've seen every jewelry collection video here on KZbin 😂 yours is by far the most fun and I appreciate a backstory for a piece. My favorite is the rosary bracelet you have! It's so unique. And the current necklace you are wearing with the charms (and yes, I thought it was a chili too)
@FortuneTarantola2 ай бұрын
Wow, thank you! That’s so nice of you to say 🥹 I just took that necklace off today to switch it up but it is one of my favorite pieces. I love that various people I love contributed to it. It makes it so special! I’m glad I know that people refer to it as a chili 🌶️ The first time someone asked me about it I was like my chili?? And thought she meant one of my tattoos so I proceeded to show them all to her and she was like ohhh I meant your necklace 😳😂😂

I love how the important pieces you have has a story attached with it. Sentimental pieces makes us feel like we’re always surrounded by good memories. I was gifted a custom 22k gold ring for my 18th birthday by my parents and ever since then I became obsessed with jewellery. I wore that ring everyday and it holds such a special place in my heart but unfortunately, I lost it at a club one night. I didn’t think twice before putting it on and when it came off my finger while dancing, it immediately disappeared off my sight. I was bummed about it for months because it held such a sentimental value to me that couldn’t be replaced by another ring. Hopefully whoever found it needed that money and used it for good tho.
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
Ugh I’m sorry to hear you lost your ring. Thankfully things can’t replace memories but that must’ve been heartbreaking. My mom bought me a silver bracelet with an onyx heart when I was in middle school and someone stole it out of my gym bag during basketball practice. I was so heartbroken and still think about it from time to time. I know they’re just ‘things’ but like you said, things can be so sentimental especially when given to you by those you love so much. My dad bought my husband and I a picture of a dock on a cloudy day to hang at our beach house and I honestly didn’t love it because it’s very depressing looking but we hung it up any way and I will never get rid of it. My dad never picked out our gifts growing up, it was always my mom. It’s the one thing I have that is truly from him and now that sad photo makes me so happy now that he’s gone.
@shafiqahashiqin1925Ай бұрын
@@FortuneTarantola I really thought about why I was upset about the lost ring and it boiled down to the fact that I felt guilty that I lost such a gift from my parents. I knew it meant a lot to them as well. But my mom never got upset about it and she told me that it was someone else’s luck that night. Since then I’ve really learned to wear, love and cherish the other pieces I own instead of lamenting over the one I lost. It’s hard being so emotional and sentimental over inanimate objects and having to explain that feeling to other people that don’t get it. Sometimes you need a physical object that you can see and touch that is comforting to remind you of your loved ones. It’s so sweet you always remember your dad. I’m sure you have so many things that remind you of him ❤️
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
Of course you're upset because your parents bought you that ring! It's so refreshing to talk to you as someone who also feels emotionally connected to material things like me. I admit it sounds silly to others but I know you know that it's not really silly, it's emotional lol My whole life my family has labeled me as 'materialistic' but it has more to do with the memories I tie to things than the actual object itself. I also rely on makeup, skincare, clothes to help pull me out of a funk. I had a lot of anxiety in September and most days I relied on getting ready/putting myself together as motivation to get me out of bed and on with my day because I looked forward to putting my favorite lipstick on. My dad didn't own much or put value to things so sadly I don't have many objects that remind me of him, aside from the photo he bought me and an urn of his ashes I keep in my closet. Thankfully I have photos of us but I do wish I had a piece of jewelry of his that I could wear every day. That would be so nice! I hope you have a beautiful weekend and thank you for chatting with me. I feel seen! Lol

@@FortuneTarantola When you look at a piece of your jewelry, you are probably thinking of who gave it to you, when and why and the exact moment !!! That is so important and that’s how I am!! I not only have pieces given to me but also passed down to me!!! I also purchase a solid gold pendant from every country I travel. That way I can go back there all the time without spending a penny!! Enjoy!!!😃❤
@FortuneTarantola25 күн бұрын
I agree! Jewelry is like a time capsule. It tells a story and brings back memories. I love that you buy a pendant from every country. That’s amazing!! I know you have a beautiful collection without even seeing it. The nostalgia makes the pieces. I hope you have a beautiful weekend 💜💜

Great video. I appreciate the stories and significance behind your collection. I've watched a few of your jewelry videos now. I like how your taste has evolved, as well as how you layer your pieces. I think you mix metals in a cool way. I love collecting handmade & vintage pieces, and I'm glad to see you have some. Etsy is great for finding unique items. I use "vintage jewelry trade" as well, to save some money on pricier pieces.
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
Thank you! I really appreciate you saying that. I just wear what I love and don’t stress about how it may look to others. Someone commented on how I mix metals today and said she loves silver but never wears it because gold compliments her skin tone better and I told her to just mix them! There’s something carefree and fun about it. Life’s too short to not enjoy little things like the jewelry you wear. I’d love to buy more vintage pieces. I’ll have to check out vintage jewelry trade. I’ve been on the for a nice vintage watch. Plus I want to find more unique pieces.

@@FortuneTarantola Oh damn, maybe it's more people than I realize. I have the same problem, but I stick with silver. I feel like gold makes me look sickly. I own some heirloom yellow gold pieces. Maybe I should play around with them? I could try rose gold too. As for vintage; the vintage jewelry trade website has been reliable for me, so I recommend them. I haven't tried Ruby Lane yet, but I've been looking into it as another resource for fine jewelry pieces. They have unique listings that are relatively affordable too. Best of luck curating!
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
You should definitely play around with them and wear them if you want to! Mix gold and silver together, it offsets the stark difference if gold makes your skin look grey/yellow/green. Wearing a little makeup also helps. Thank you for sharing websites! I will check them out and do a bit of research myself. I'll be sure to share any good ones I find along the way. Have a beautiful weekend!!!

I, like you, am obsessed with jewelry. You have so many beautiful pieces, but I think my faves are your necklace with the hand and horn and the loopy ring from your aunt with the diamonds. My favorite jewelry is estate and vintage stuff but in terms of designers I love Marla Aaron, Temple St. Clair, Polly Wales, Jacquie Aiche… there’s too many! Would love to see more jewelry content from you!

Thank you so much for watching and sharing!! So many jewelry designers I’ve never heard of and will have to check out! I love anything pre loved so I’m sure I’d be into vintage pieces. I drool over my grandma’s jewelry. Designer pieces like Cartier are so expensive and more mainstream and while I adore the ones I have, I really enjoy finding unique jewelry along the way. Jewelry with a story is the best kind! 💗

Hello :) can you update the link for the Macy's tennis bracelet?
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
Hi!! Copy and paste the below. I love my bracelet but I maybe do some research. I think you’d be able to find better quality in terms of diamond size for this price. I’ve had it for about 7 years, I never take it off and it’s held up really well but the diamonds themselves are small and I think you can find something better! People have told me to wear less bracelets because it distracts from certain pieces but jewelry is personal and meant to make the person wearing it happy!! Lucky you.. I got my ears pierced when I was in 6th grade and I nearly had a panic attack I was so scared but wanted to wear earrings so badly!! I want to get more piercings before the end of this year so I have more places to wear jewelry! lol!! thank you for watching !!!

beautiful collection! info for jewelry storage: highly recommend pottery barn jewelry boxes, called McKenna (just looked on PB they have limited stock + may have changed name to Quinn) I've had various sizes for 25+ years, they are made by Wolf who also makes their own jewelry boxes (would expect them to be great too) and are often on sale on PB - wish I had them in all same white color but PB often changes colors so if you like a color buy everything you may want when available - bored during covid, thought buying stackers was a brilliant idea (kinda expensive, better to buy leather which stackers are not) to organize additional jewelry and it was not smart at all, ha! the problem is that I bought like 5 large trays that lay on top of each other and to get to bottom tray, you have to move top 4 and they are kinda heavy and have knocked over trays doing this, jewelry went everywhere, lol - if you have a wardrobe that has drawers that pull out stackers would definitely work better than in my case but amazon probably has same exact trays for way less - I spaced on return window to container store and still have them but thankfully ended up buying another huge pottery barn jewelry box, much happier and quality is excellent and they last forever - hope this helps!
@FortuneTarantolaАй бұрын
Thank you so much!! That's super helpful. I really need a jewelry box with pull out drawers. The Quinn looks really nice and I may ask for it for Christmas :) I bought stacks during covid too!! I bought 3 huge trays to stack on one another and I find it to be such a hassle to see what I have when I'm getting ready (especially when I'm rushing!). My trays aren't heavy but they sure are ugly and impractical lol! I have a wardrobe with deep drawers so I don't use any for jewelry but I dream of having shallow draws with glass tops one day for all my jewelry. That is the ultimate goal!
