Would it be beneficial to have the spare tire mounted in such a way that the valve is not at the lowest point, to minimize the chance of water accumulation around the valve and thus speed up possible rusting around the valve?
@FortuneOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea. I just oriented it that way to make checking the pressure and air up easier. Not too worries about rust in my area, plus I use spray paint to touch up any rust spots

Nice!!... won't the additional weight wear out the hinges?
@FortuneOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
They are pretty thick metal and the bolts in the hinges are large too. So I hope not!
@Tunzbig4 жыл бұрын
over time it can crack the steel around the hinges. recently I built a swing out tyre carrier :)

@@Tunzbig I'm hoping to build a tire carrier eventually to hold some gas and tools!
@Tunzbig4 жыл бұрын
@@theKMUPPETS mine was dead easy to make. I made it from a stub axle from a trailer, a trailer hub some rhs steel, and a old suzuki hub. so I have a spare tyre and also a spare hub Assembly.
