Love the build man! I binge watched every episode last night! I’ve built one samurai for a customer and I finally got my hands on one for myself! Can’t wait to get started on it!

The drive shaft spacers may not be the best option, but they are better than dropping a drive shaft out on the trail. Just keep making progress and you'll get it where you want it.

When I swap to toyota axles I'll just have a new driveshaft made! 🤘🏻

@@FortuneOffRoad keep working at it don't let perfection get in the way of progress. If we waited until we could do everything exactly the way we wanted it we might never get stsrted.

I'm using modified Toyota drive shafts. They bolt to large flange Samurai flanges. You just have to bore the centers a little where the nut is in a lathe because the Toyota drive shaft yoke flanges have a larger centering ring. You also have to take die grinder and clearance the little dome in the center of the drive shaft yoke a little so the samurai pinion shaft and nut clears.

Nice! What size tires are you running with that setup?

@@FortuneOffRoad I've been running 33 - 12.50 - 15 on 15 X 8.5 wheels. Since 2014. My rear shaft is a shortened 1997 Toyota 4Runner V-6 automatic front shaft. My front drive shaft is a lengthened 1980 Toyota four-wheel drive pickup front shaft. I cut the knuckles off of the front axle and rotated the pinion up and welded them back on. I can drive over 60 MPH with the hubs locked without any vibration. The angle on the rear shaft is pretty steep. Driveshaft shop told me it would not work. I work in a machine shop and made these shafts myself. I sometimes drive 3 hours one way only interstate to go wheeling. I haven't had any problems. I do put a shot of grease in the rear universal joints at every oil change. I recommend using only genuine Toyota u-joints.

Yeah I had a similar day yesterday, put in an adapter from Toyota flange to samurai flange, a new transfer case cradle and tried to install some twin sticks but aborted the mission in that since they needed some clearancing and I didn’t have enough time to mess with all that. All while trying to film, well I got the cradle and driveline installed anyways I guess 🤷🏼♂️🤣

Small victories. Filming is a pain and makes everything take way longer! 🤕

The amount of times you tried to get around removing the exhaust pipe in you vids....should hold up though

Lol one of these days I'm going to get my exhaust done completely and have them route it away from the key areas!
