what are your opinion on the IronMan suspension for Thar bs6. I am planning for that suspension change for my Thar as people claim that the suspension not only gives a far more stable ride but also corrects the front droop of the vehicle by lifting the front by around 1 to 1.5 inches. QUESTION 2 - How are the Vredestein Pinza tyres on the bigger Hilux..? Are they 3 ply sidewall tyres ? Please respond 🙏

They are better and yes it corrects it. I am happy with the setup. It reduced body roll and made handling better

IMO we should run stock vehicles for as long as possible to understand them better. The Jimny with lighter tires (Contrary to LT Radars) would perform better. They are exceptional in Shimla with the stock HT pizza cutters. not saying remaps and mods aren't fun, but they don't necessarily make the vehicle better for all scenarios.

Anshuman, from your experience what all cars with rear locker from factory can operate when in reverse? I see some brands not allowing the locker to work when in reverse probably to save the mechanicals.

Factory lockers are mostly shit. Too much caution required while using. Endy locker is good, Toyota has too many restrictions on engagement and usage.

@@Anshyuman ok. My question is still unanswered. Btw will Endy’s rear locker work in reverse gear? Let’s say you’re in a descent, and you need to back up this deeply rutted hill.. I know Fortuner’s system is a joke, it’s better to throw away the factory locker and swap in with an ARB one, but what about the other cars in India that offer rear locker in stock form, can they be used only in forward gears or in reverse too?

What’s the ideal tyre pressure to drive in desert sand?

It depends on how loose and soft the sand is, the sidewall of the tyre and some other things as well. There’s no proper rule to it, you’re safe anywhere that won’t make your tyre debead. 18-20 PSI is a safe middle ground. If you go below it, it is not safe to take sharp turns. Depending on the type of tyre, rim and sidewall, you can go as low as 5 PSI or even less, but again lot of factors play a role to go that low in tyre pressures.
