What a terrible set of questions. He’s such an interesting person and gives so few public interviews, what a waste of an opportunity.

I really really connect with everything that Jony says. What he says is so profound and yet so simple that people often wonder what he even said. But believe me, this is important education right here. His frustration with how important silent ideas can be, how defining the problem is so important are all things that people in power should really listen to very carefully. So many great ideas are thrown in dustbin because a decision has to be made quickly or because the listener didn’t really take out time to understand the idea. Most of the times, the problem is not even understood and everyone starts throwing solutions. These are very very important things and most companies don’t understand how these small attitudinal changes can totally alter how they do things. He is talking about the very core point from where a vector starts. If it doesn’t start well, it can be very much off the path by the time it has covered some distance.

I can’t believe these are the questions being asked to a profound thinker like Ives. It’s like a high school skit.

That interview was quite a downer. The questions were shallow, uninteresting, and sometimes a bit insulting. What a wasted opportunity.

I want him to talk about the Leica collaboration that was one of the best I’ve seen him design

I feel the interviewer was quite insulting to Ive's design philosophy, they should've had someone else who actually knew about his work and asked more interesting questions.

Is there a Jony Ive case that will protect my super-cool looking Jony Ive iPhone from breaking when it slips out of my hand while fumbling for my keys? Or is the “genius” of Jony Ive that he’s helped create a secondary market for iPhone cases. Mine looks like a piece of military hardware…not the device seen in the Apple ads. Great designs…but did Apple REALLY have to make such an easily breakable product?

I admire him as a designer, but also as a master of talking and talking.....and saying absolutely nothing at the end :)
