Dynamic weather(specifically rain) was actually the best in horizon 2 out of all other horizon games. The rain on the cockpit view is also much more detailed than newer titles even compared to Horizon 5. Overall they really outdid themselves in 2014. In my opinion Horizon 2 is the best looking Horizon game. The progression was also nice with nice cutscenes before road trips. The whole game just felt real like the horizon festival is actually established in real life , something that newer horizon titles just can't achieve. Soundtrack list is pretty good too , had some amazing dubstep and edm tracks.

Ah yes, back before everything had a brown filter over it, back to when winning races actually mattered, back when you actually had a sense of progression, back when cars weren't recycled non-stop, back when the career wasn't completely cringe, back when the map had some actual elevation, back when cities actually were enjoyable to drive through. The good ole days of Horizon, I 100% Horizon 2 and 3. Put way more hours than I care to admit. I've put a lot of hours into 4 and 5, but they could never keep me hooked like 2 and 3.

I've just received a copy today after purchasing it a couple of days ago and thank goodness I found out now that I was smart enough to get the DLCs years ago when they were still available even though I didn't owned the game, now that really made my day. This game as is visually well advance to its time of release and even though I'm currently on Forza 4 and 5, Horizon 2 still lives to high expectations

Me and my friends would come home from school every night and everyone knew what the plan was - Horizon 2 haha. Everyone would be calling each other asking when the other was hopping online. We'd set up a private online freeroam and just play endless hours of King down by the dockyard, road trips, hide and seek etc etc. and we just never got bored. Such a special game. HUGE nostalgia. Makes me truly sad I can't go back to those times. Emotional stuff. As we all live in the south of UK, we are all planning to do a massive real life road trip to those exact places in the game - southern France and northern Italy

Would love a 4K and/or 60FPS upscaled version to be released. Sadly, I doubt that will ever happen. I'm on Series X, and while it runs decently, it doesn't run as well as it could/should for the hardware I am on. The Series X Auto HDR is nice, but the resolution is pretty rough to be played on a 4K TV. Also RIP online, since both FH1 and FH2 have had their servers shut down:( (Commenting this before finishing the video, so Idk if you bring any of this up)

This is my favorite one in the series. I don’t know why, at the time I got so into it. Used to crank surround sound in my man cave and jam to the drum and bass channel, i loved the online battles as well as cpu could be made fun on harder settings. And the engine sounds from this one, while they may have been “exaggerated” they were so fun and made the game awesome.

How am i just now seeing this video!! Fh2 has long been my favorite horizon game in the franchise so much so that I have archived all of the leaderboards before server death. I have over 1.2k hours in this game and still play it all the time, whether servers down or not. It really sucks that playground games did not give this game the love it deserved and instead just kicked it to the curb to have it be forgotten. No 4k update and constant server issues have contributed to an ever dwindling player base and it’s sad to know that this game will one day be forgotten in its entirety.

I recently picked up a physical copy of fh2 for the xbox one. I first played this game on the 360 and knew I had to give it another go with better graphics . They’re amazing and car sounds are good too. The roads and the rain, the atmosphere, gameplay, everything is top notch.

While I agree starting FH5 if you are new to the series if you like online racing, Eventlabs, etc. but if you are looking for (in my opinion) the ZENITH of single player story, I would suggest starting wit FH3 instead. Great content bro! Got yourself a new subscriber!

Thanks for the video! The Xbox One was my first gaming console. I was always fascinated by two game genres, open world games in general and car racing games. When I'm looking back at it, FH2 was even the reason for buying an Xbox One! You made me realize, that this 9-year old classic is still sleeping in some dusty box and I just found it! Until just now I didn't have any plans for my day off tomorrow, which is going to be a rainy German spring day. Now I do have a plan: breathing some nostalgia and play FH2 again! Let's see how this one is holding up for me in 2024 on Xbox Series X! 🤩

this is the reason I got a g920, it has bugs on BOTH forza where it shakes even standby, nah cancelled game pass, and change it for a g29 and bought GT7. Forza is cool dough if you want arcade experience with controller or unless you have a PC

seeing all of this and more about horizons 1, 2, and 3 again after playing them all growing up just makes me more and more sad about how little effort is being put into the new ones. its like, they go all out on graphics, and then take away everything else that made it a good game series. fun, drivable maps. unique cars and new exciting content. proper progression and great cities etc. a proper festival vibe where the focus was on music, and car racing first, and all the extra stuff second. now it almost feels like the cars, racing, and music is the last thing that the dev team cares about

The first Forza Horizon game I ever played was FH4. Fell in love with it right from the beginning. Then I bought FH3. Forgot about FH4 immediately. Then I managed to get FH2. OMG. The intro, the vibe, the location, the particles effects, the island DLC! Everything was perfect. Don't have my XBOX anymore, so I miss this game. Gotta get Series S at least to play it again.

I loved to drive like a normal citizen, obeying the trafic laws and look at both sides of the road when driving through a cross. Idk, it was so relaxing and fun watching the other online players going full Ferrari or Lambo at 120mph while I was chilling driving a FIAT at 35mph

This is the only horizon game that really feels like you’re at a festival, in fh3, 4, and 5 it’s just like driving around an empty map by yourself.

Also, the road trips are by far the best way to do the single player stuff. They work perfectly in fh2 with a pretty small map, if they put it in fh6 (as long as the map doesn’t suck ass) it’d be 10x better than the fh5 “do everything at your own pace and you win no matter what” style.

Am I the only person who doesn't like the fact that once you could drive off of the map, the realism was lost because roads weren't a necessity. Most cars, if they drove off road for even a second would crash. The land became flat and featureless and reminded me of Midtown Madness. I think that if there's another game like FH1 that I'd want to play it would have less jumps, ridiculous festival settings, HUD and challenge markers, more realistic road size, damage, and would handle like Forza Motorsport 4, have a lot of insignificant versions of cars like Gran Turismo, and a Used Car Lot, insurance payments, gas, realistic traffic, the map would be topographically accurate with dips, crests and potholes, no fast travel, repairs would cost money that would depend on make and model, and there would be different maps accessible through a loading cinematic of flying to another location where you'd have to start over again with different cars and elements. Maybe I'm crazy for saying this, but I think that Forza Horizon went like Saints Row, and started to become ridiculous and unrealistic. The only way that this hypothetical game that I'm speaking of could be made is if I somehow figured out how to use A.I. to make one myself in 10 years once the world has ended. I'm staying optimistic.

i grew up with the xbox 360 version of fh2. In 2021 i bought and xbox series s and one day i decided to buy a digital copy of fh2 xbox one because i remember that my neighbor had an xbox one and i could play it. When i contacted him he said that he sold the xbox one and bought xbox series x and he could lend me it for 20 days so i could play fh2 xbox one version, when i finally got my hands on the xbox series x and i could play fh2 xbox one. When i opened the game i literally cried/smiled while playing the game it was way better and more fun. I am now on day 13/20 of having the xbox series x, last week for me to enjoy fh2 xbox one version. I just wish i could play the physical version of the game on xbox series s

Hey! FH1 is backwards compatible so if you have a series x and pick up an FH1 disc from GameStop you can play it. Just not online.

Southern France and Northern Italy is by far the best location in any Horizon game. I might be biased because I live there but as far as driving roads and scenery goes, you can’t beat it. The new games focus too much on Offroad sections in my opinion.
