I'm very happy that they actually said that realism makes it easier, and I can totally see it being true. Forza's physics have always been "hyper realistic" in the sense that they would overexaggerate some behaviors of the car for some weird reason making the driving cumbersome. Thankfully the new team seems to know what can actually be better for everyone and I hope this game rocks.

@@MDCYF Yeah they did, you have to make pretty extreme moves with the wheel. Also for some reason my default setting on steering sensitivity was at 50% which made it impossible to keep the car on the track without looking at the wheel all the time to turn in even more xDD Slides are very hard to catch too while spinning on acceleration is hard to achieve but also easy to catch so you most of the time take that small risk and push the pedal to the floor 0-100% instantly (traction control off, actually everything except for ABS is off on my setup).

Personally, I'd rather have them push towards a 4-year cycle. It'd let them have more time to make the map bigger, and more diverse. Also, every 4 years or so, Nvidia releases a new series of gpu's, making it so they can use the power of the new video cards, whether it'd be DLSS 3.0, or better ray tracing.

PC Graphics cards have never really been the limiting factor in game development, it's usually the consoles as they're not refreshed as often and will always be old at the end of their lifecycle

Hey, Eric! I've got one very important question I would like for you to ask to the devs: "Will there be a 'realistic' gear shifting option?" With that I mean, that the options change from Manual, to manual with clutch and even automatic (in trucks or something) depending on what car you choose, that would be such a game changing feature to me, because I have to change it Everytime I swap cars because because Im just like that lol Btw love your content!!

If you played the beginning of FH1, when you challenge Flynt on the way to the festival in your yellow viper, than you hop into this old red car and ACTUALLY FEEL PROGRESSION When you needed to win 20 races to buy a new Lambo Now you drive through one speed camera fast enough, and eventually get 3 Supercars, pog :/ The story + progression is what I miss the most

I think they shouldn’t have a set schedule. Maybe just anywhere between the 2-4 year range. That way if it gets finished early, release it early, if it is on track keep it going. Don’t rush it but don’t hold it out if it’s ready

One thing I desperately wish for is exhaust tips. There are few things more frustrating than putting a 600hp turbo engine in an Open Kadett and still having a tiny peashooter 1" pipe.

I have many ideas that I'm sure would benefit the community, like maybe as the game progresses you could add more "normal" cars that, such as Skoda, SUV Audis, Hondas, etc. Also cars like sleepers. Maybe also a "cinematic" mode, and also you could add a "traffic density" option, where you could change the density of the traffic, so you wouldn't have to worry about weaving between cars anymore. And also little things like interior camera, interior customization, more in depth photo mode, and 900 degree wheel rotation. Also another thing I think would be great is MULTIPLE SAVE SLOTS, where you could have, let's say three different save slots, so if you are bored at the end of the game, you can just restart, without losing any of your current progress. Also, another what would be a great thing to implement would be more realistic cosmetic damage and car deformation, because I think that would add a bit of realism and fun to the game.

The devs have explicitly said that they donot have plans to do Japan. The looked at it but they said it does not give them the Horizon vibes that they are looking for. So most likely we will never see a Horizon Japan.

Judging by the gameplay of FH5 while off-roading, I don't think they really have updated the physics for off-roading. I believe they only made the contact of tyres spinning with the mud more realistic.

Time stamp 2.30. Brakes have been balanced and realistic in every Forza game including Motorsport. It's crazy to me how many ppl complain about this when in reality adjusting the brakes w out ABS ON with two formulas and using telemetry to adjust pressure. Even without Telemetry ON, Brake Balance for FRONT ENGINE platforms is as simple as looking at the FRONT WEIGHT % in the stats and adjusting it to that VERY same # and the opposite for REAR ENGINE cars. Brake Pressure is adjusted by using this weight ratio stat as well. A 50/50 weight ratio car would be as simple as knowing the total weight of the car and TIRE grip threshold for maximum BRAKE applied.

Not sure about the ABS though. I've always played with ABS off because it feels like actual ABS, until you're going very slow. Never had problems locking the wheels. I think they need to rework the feel of drum brakes and add brake fade.

im fine with a three year cycle, as long as the game has enough content and engagement to live the full three years until the next game is released. however i have no doubt that horizon 5 will live at least 3 years because of the diversity and new features that have been promised. i think this will give the devs longer to make sure the game is as good as possible, meaning that the community will enjoy it more.

I know nobody’s really thinks it but Canada would make a cool location for a future horizon game IMO you get all four seasons and there’s plenty of terrain variances from BC with its rainforest climate to the Rocky Mountains and flat farm lands with perfect carving roads for TA or drifting in Ontario

3 years honestly is the way to go between Forza Horizon games. Gives them the extra year to polish before releasing it to the public. I am totes keen on Events Lab, and I'm pretty happy that it is not going to be in its final form at launch. This gives the community to asks them to add something into it. Hopefully we can eliminate the last racers in a race in an Elimination Style race - either after completing a lap, or being last after a certain time limit. Maybe create gates to score points or additional time on in things like Gate Crasher or Time Attack with the latter requiring you to complete the course and its laps within a restrictive time limit. I wonder if we can adjust things like the number of influence/xp that we get at the end of the event, or give us a reward. I'm still very excited.

Realistically speaking, having an increasing size and scope of game being created is naturally going to take more time, so this jump from 2 to 3 year cycles was inevitable. If they get much bigger or more detailed, I wouldn't be surprised I we we eventually saw 4 or 5 year cycles. Regardless, I'm of the mindset that devs can set tentative schedules, but they should not be forced to put out a game before it's at it's best. Speedbumps and blockers always happen during development, and even with estimates sometimes things can be a massive time sink to fix properly. All in all, I have other games I can play and actual cars I can drive, so they can take as long as they need as long as we don't get a half-baked release like 4 was.

I will always take quality over quantity. Even with games now being able to completely change post launch. The game's launch is still a big factor on how many, and how long most will stick around for. Few games can recover from a botched launch, so I would rather games be released when they are ready.

More importantly, how do they manage to develop the Fable game reboot and the Horizon series at the same time. Let's not forget that Fable will be the most important action/RPG game in the Xbox's library, so Playground game will definitely need all the resources they can tap on to develop that game. With that in mind, we will be lucky to get a new Horizon game every 3 year.

I really hope they increase the horsepower limits on cars. There are now actual street legal 1800hp GTR's and 1400hp Audi R8's, and yet in the game they are capped at around 1000hp 🤷🏻‍♂️

The real question I have about FH5: Are multiplayer private lobbies are returning for FH5 unlike FH4? They should bring it back to reduce the lag because that was the problem for 4.

i felt that simulation steering was a bit too twitchy and normal steering felt disconnected from the car. hopefully itll be a bit nicer in this installment, maybe wheels will be somewhat viable even

As long as the previous title is supported I don't care how long it takes for a new Horizon. I'd rather the developers have time to be ambitious and bring us what we want as fans. Think of it this way, I'd rather have Horizon 6 take 5 years to make and enjoy all that time I have to explore 5 than to have them rush out a new one like a Madden or Call of Duty every year. These developers clearly care about the product they make so let them have as much time as they need.

It would be nice if once we would get a forza horizon where you can turn headlights on and off. I know it is a small detail but in my opinion it would be cool since now we have roofs down or up and race mod on or off.

I wish they had of waited to use Australia for FH5, cities, suburbs, beaches, deserts, rainforests, bushland etc. Still happy with the choice of Mexico though.

So they rebuilt the physics engine for Horizon 5. And they are still rebuilding the Motorsport franchise one. Cool

What I want is a wholesome game since release and not a game as a service which gets a good part of its content well after release, and the devs to completely focus on the next title right away.

Then you either have less content overall and a game that dies in a year. And the devs do in fact start making the new game right after launch.

Everyone is like : make the development cycle longer Let’s not forget Cyberpunk was developed for almost 10 years ! So let’s ask forza to keep it 3 years development cycle

When they say that it is easier to drive off-road than it uses to be , how easier is it gonna be ? because it was still easy to drive off-road in Forza horizon 4. Can anyone explain ?

No mention as to How much easier, but more realistic. Perhaps its more consistent allowing the cars to be more predictable off road.

This is a guess and could be entirely wrong, but I would say the cars probably react better to harsh bumps and landings. In FH4 the cars were really easy to control off road until you hit a super harsh bump, or went over a jump and the car landed, this typically caused the car or truck to get thrown way off balance and In some cases it was almost impossible to keep from going sideways.
