In the beginning clip for upgrading the muscle car and showing the tuning you can do the stock exhaust was shared from the Mercedes Benz C63 in horizon 4, the second exhaust option was the shelby gt350 from fh4, and the last option was the generic 6.2L V8 sound from horizon 4.

for me, every car is missing it's low frequencies. They are way to high pitched to sound realisitc. I mean, yes, it's still an arcade game but the sound is a crucial part of every game. But this can always be fixed, so please Forza, give us more bass.

The bass is enough, no car is bassy above 4K rpm except for maybe large displacement v8s, if there's constant droning bass it's just going to get annoying. Wait until they show us what they sound like at around 1-3k rpm

The last car shows that the deep frequencies are there, the issue is that even v8s become high pitched at high RPMs. Irl cars are driven on the road at lower rpm so things like the zl1 sound much bassier there.

Some cars have audible idling, and some don't. If you load up FH4 right now and take out almost any car with the 1.6L I4 Turbo Rally engine they have a very pronounced/obvious idle popping noise. I've noticed plenty of idling on other cars as well, that is just the most obvious example.

My hope is that the engine sounds of other peoples cars are audible, in fh4 other players cars are nearly silent, but in NFS Heat, you can hear other players cars storming down the street and it's awesome, ntm when you're cruising in a big group, it sounds incredible

I like the NFS Heat's tuning of sound as well, how aggressive it sounds and how subtle the pops are & exhaust tips plus you have windscreen liveries etc. If NFS had the same physics as fh4 I'd make that my main game in a heartbeat. it reminds me so much of underground 2

there is something about automatic transmission sounds that very few games get right, and is the progressive drop in revs without interruption in the sound. In most games there is like a cut in the sound between gear shifts, I think if they can fix it before the release in november, I don't think it's going to be a game changer, but would be a nice touch that gives a bit more realism. I know they probably won't even see this but there you go

I remember when the Centenario first had this going on back in FH3. It was so....seamless even though the transmission isn't actually THAT seamless IRL. The Veyron SS felt great in terms of its shifting in FH3 though, felt as quick as the real thing in terms of the trans almost. A few cars in FH4 also feel this way but....otherwise they do need to speed up some of those dual-clutch transmission sounds for example. Newer Dodges have an incredible 8 speed ZF transmission and in the Horizon games and Motorsport games they are in they feel....sluggish with shifting. I own a 8 speed Challenger R/T and it shifts insanely fast. When I drive a Charger/Challenger Hellcat in FH3/4 for example....yeah it....lags....lol

Is it SO hard to do this? Even Sims 4 got this feature. Sims. Four. Yes, i love the ingame radios but hearing the same tracks every time just sucks. Sure, you could play Spotify in the background but there a few things missing like the sound effects or the radio going mute when driving through a tunnel. My god, PG, give us a damn user music folder. Please. GTA got it. Sims 4 got it.

There will be options to make the exhaust louder in the upgrade shop. You will be able to rev your engine and hear the difference between the different exhaust kits.

The sounds are 'sounding' great, but I am more impressed by the wind, the motion of plants, creeks, trees and birds, and how details, objects are placed in the 'playground'. I feel here a lot of imporvements, a lot of additional benefits as the studio is working on Fable, too. Seems proimsing for both Forza Horizon 5 and Fable.

One thing I'm really hoping is we get a bit louder idle sounds kind of like in Horizon 2, also the backfires sound exactly the same as Horizon 4, but other than that not bad. Low frequencies need to be increased as well as bass. Great work nonetheless and hope this can all be resolved before release.

Compared to: Colorado(FH1) French Riviera (FH2) Australia (FH3) Mexico (FH5) All of these have vast diverse mountains filled with some of the world's best driving roads winding mountains and rivers, and then there's England which is just... England. The plain bread of countries. Really odd choice. I feel like Mexico is probably one of the best so far though

Yet one of the biggest problems with car sounds in this game still remain; when you shift down at low speeds the engine doesn't spike the revs all the way up. Also, the gearbox shift speeds. Everything sounds like they have shift speeds of over 500 milliseconds. That Golf R gearbox supposed to have a shift speeds of less than 50 milliseconds (unless it's the manual version)

@@cast1061 Watch fly by videos, exhaust videos, dyno videos, etc of ZL1s and you will quickly realize this is no where in the same ballpark of how a ZL1 sounds. They have videos of the process and they supposedly put the microphone on the bumper of the car they recorded. This sounds digitized and metallic sounding rather than the deep gurgle of a supercharged LS/LT based motor.

It's a new feature in Horizon 5. They said so in the livestream. They also mentioned that like, if you're driving in a canyon and such, the sound'll bounce off the walls so you'll hear an echo. Same goes for cars zooming by too. Really dynamic!
