I love the small details in tdu2. Like the odometer, being able to look more than left and right in the cockpit, and being able to ride passenger with your friends and just cruise. Made you feel way more connected to the game and cars rather than just completing a hard challenge to got point in a forzathon shop....

Yeah... That's really unfortunate. But the races are great. On the other hand The Crew 2, which would be TDU4, has not only a healthy amount of traffic but also pedestrians. Too bad they couldn't make the handling better in all these years.

We still haven't seen any in game footage or have more info about the game. I really hope I'm wrong, I want a new TDU as much as any fan of the series but I'm not getting my hopes up for a September 2022 release.

I just dropped Forza Horizon 5 after a couple of weeks of playing. I hated the small map and how similar it was to Horizon 4. I started playing TDU2 again. The physics are trash, but I'm having so much more fun with it even after all these years

I know that the TDU2 is a decade game, but I enjoy playing this game a lot more than FH. (Don't get me wrong; FH is a great game, too. But it can't make me stick to it that much.) The physics in TDU2 are bad, but there are a lot of things for you to do in the game. Just only cruising around the island while listening to the radio, turning on/off light indicator, roof, mirror, walking around the car dealerships and houses make me stick to the game until this day.

Forza Horizon wasn't designed for kids. It's a series for everyone with more car variety. TDU on the other hand - for me it's a what Need for Speed would become if we added open world map to the old rules (performance cars with little tuning options racing in exotic locations).

Test drive unlimited 2 is the superior game, it's just that now a days a game has to be graphically good even though majority of the gamers don't have great PCs and it has to be super easy to get into, both things that TDUL2 doesn't have. But the new game is coming out and I hope it owns every other game. I loved owning houses in TDLU2 and customizing the look of the character.

Tdu 1 was my favourite on 360 hope that solar crown ads feature for turning hazard lights on and needing to refuel opening trunk and hood and bring back the factory paint shop from tdu1 so I can repaint my car in another factory colour if I change my mind after purchasing and I hope there's more options for clothes hair styles tattoos exct

The perfect example of a developer making a sloppy game for money versus a developer going out of their way to give players a dream game, an incredibly realistic and advanced game with fun, a game with lots of possibilities. A good example that beauty is not everything and that you also have to look inside. The developer of TDU even went bankrupt trying to make a game like this and I can't thank him enough for making such a game. I was able to spend countless happy hours on it.

@@Viniciusg950 It makes a game more immersive, more realistic. It shows that the developer wanted to make something as complete as possible. That's true automotive passion. You live through your character in the game as if you had lots of beautiful houses on an island paradise that you can explore as you please, with beautiful cars as if you were in real life. That's what the developer wanted to convey. Little details like turn signals, lights, windows, houses and dealerships make all the difference and show that the devloppeur wants to give you a great, realistic experience and immerse you in your passion, not just pocket your money like fh5 does. fh5 summary: I make a game with good graphics, with races and cars on a mini-map and I don't give a damn about the rest. And what's more, high-performance cars that you unlock straight away, so there's absolutely no excitement about achieving goals and improving. Thanks Microsoft for your contribution, but I'll pass. It's just an arcade game compared to TDU, which is a simulation that was clearly ahead of its time (2011!!)

I grew up on the test drive unlimited games and love them to bits, but TDU2's car handling is something I really can't stand nowadays. Although it did a lot of things right with car spec, detailing, and immersion, FH5 simply feels better to drive and although the map isn't as big, its way more diverse and interesting imo. Even TDU Platinum, which has way better car handling than TDU2, can't compete with FH5 for me (I've played both back to back recently to compare). If FH6 contains accurate spec options for interior and rims, the ability to control headlights and windows, and a better soundtrack, it would be even more perfect than it already is, but to be honest these things really aren't necessary in my opinion for a great racing game.

I respect your opinion, but truthfully I don't understand what kind of point you're trying to make. I agree TDU2's physics were not polished (though I still had plenty of fun), but I don't think your comment really acknowledges why TDU stands out as an open-world driver in the first place. What it did right was everything that Horizon, NFS and Crew don't do right now, which is the feeling of car ownership, and a sense of reality. There's tons of ways the game does that, but other open-world racers by design can't do what TDU is meant to. FH5 is fun to race in, TDU is fun to drive in.

@@bobmarley6306 It would be cool for FH to do, but considering the scope of the car list I don't think it's feasible lol - their current system works for them. I get that, since TDU's map isn't as diverse as FH5, or maybe as detailed as NFS Heat, but I think they used realism really effectively. It feels like roads from real-life instead of roads built around having a racing line, and the size makes driving the same route/road twice in a row remarkably hard to do. Always fresh when you hop back on.

Test Drive Unlimited 1 from many years back blows away even the newest Forza Horizon games in creativity and fun factor. If Test Drive Solar Crown measures up to TDU1, I will gladly flush Forza Horizon games down the toilet. What would be my ultimate dream come true for the new Solar Crown is if they would revamp the map from TDU1 and add it as an expansion in which you could fly to. My mind would be blown. Also, why not make is so you can get out of your car and walk around?

@@volt2087 It's just the same game as FH4, but with worse progression, same recycle contents from the previous games that are now locked behind, the Fortnite emotes along with the SJW clothing are cringy, most players during online free roam are ghosting and there's almost no sight of traffics which make the world so lifeless and boring, the landscape is mostly consisted of huge empty desert and fields which make the map is a huge wasteland, not to mention that the game doesn't offer anything challenging gameplay since you can get high end cars in just a few minutes with minimum efforts to play. TDU series is still the king of open world racing games.

Interesting comparsion, but there are some flaws of TDU2 that to me makes the game a worse experience compared to Forza Horizon (note that my impressions are based only with playing the game in singleplayer mode, after official servers being shut down and game being removed from the stores). Beside already mentioned physics in other commentaries: the ai of opponents is not trying too hard; the balance in some of the car classes is broken; certain side activities feel unnecessary (like to giving a lift to npc with nausea). Then there are dlcs that could be acquired only from the official store (getting the fastest classic cars and any bikes is now impossible). Oh, and the soundtrack, almost forgot about it. It's another point that's executed worse than compared to first TDU. It would be hugely improved if there would be skip button for next song in the radio or at least being able to shuffle the playlist. It always play in the exactly the same order which made me turn it off. Which is sad, because like in the first TDU, the sequel have a bunch of fine songs to listen while playing open world racing game. Everything mentioned above made me impression of the game with not enough polish. Despite that I still have some fun with it and I hope that Solar Crown will come out as properly developed.
