Oh Christ. This is going to need a re-review. Also there is a mistake. The first Forza Horizon was pitched to Microsoft in 2010. The year after Forza Motorsport 3 was released.

What I really loved doing in Forza 3 is starting a race, taking over 1st place and quitting the game without going totally out. You'll see the table on the screen with the race results while the race is still going on in the background. After some seconds the table on the screen goes away and the race continues in replay mode. I loved doing that to test my car and watching if the computer driver could keep first place.

You can buy the ultimate collection on disc where disc 2 has all car packs up until that point

I think the ultimate edition still has all of the cars that the base game had, but you could download all of the car packs. Even though to can still buy the ultimate edition brand new, I don't know if you would be able to get the cars as the license run out 8 or so years ago.

@@MontegoReviews the ultimate collection version has a second disc that is used to install the dlc. The ultimate collection second disc is different then the original disc 2. This one has every dlc except the vip, and one pack that came out after this version of the game was released. It also came with a code to download the stigs garage car pack but even if you get a new copy the codes don't work anymore

There’s a strong sentiment in the Forza fanbase that the series peaked with this, 4, and Horizon.

I would agree with that. I would say that it almost peaked again with Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 3, but they were trying to get back on track after Forza Motorsport 5.

My only gripe with Forza 4 compared to 3 is that 4 handled car XP way too leniantly. 4 races, and every upgrade for the car's _entire brand_ is free. I prefer the drip-feeding of discounts and bonuses as you race more and more of their cars as in 2 and 3.

Great Review ! Are you playing with a wheel or the controller? And are you using manual or automatic transmission? I really like the forza series, forza 4 is my favourite.

Thanks. I play with a controller and in automatic. I don't like manual with controllers, but when I do play with a steering wheel then I set the game to manual. Forza 4 is a really good game and I should be reviewing it quite soon. It's not my favourite, but it is in my top three.

I think a wheel is only worth the money with you have the right seating position, but that's where the space issue come into it as a "racing chair" can take up a lot of room. I've found some cheap ones that can fold up such X Rocker XR Racing Circuit Chair.

At some point. I want to review Gran Turismo 5 and 5 Prologue first whilst having a few reviews in between them. I will move a few games around on the review list and try to push the Forza Motorsport 4 review forwards as much as I can.

Hey Montego, do you think it is still worth getting an Xbox 360 as I'm currently thinking about getting one to play Forza 2-4 and PGR 3 and 4 as I've missed them out completely? And is the backwards compatibility for Xbox Classic games on the Xbox 360 decent to play Forza 1 as an example?

I do think it's worth getting an Xbox 360. Now that it's two generations old, you can buy them for next to nothing. I bought my current one for £80, but it came with so many games and accessories that I didn't need and so I sold those and made back all of the money that I spent. I recommend getting the Slim or the E as at that point Microsoft had ironed out most of the issues. When you go buy one I recommend asking the seller to turn it on. If it's quite load then it needs cleaning and they are a pain to repair and clean. Overall you should get one from a shop that offers a warranty as the Xbox 360 isn't that reliable especially now that it's 15 years old. The backwards compatibility isn't that good. According to Wikipedia The first Forza Motorsport runs at a lower and unstable Frame rate compared to the original Xbox . There are some artifacts in the decals menu and occasionally and you can hear audio noises.

Forza 4 is not as good sorry, where are the endurance races in 4? And it's tracks look better in 3 imo.
