i really love the portrayal here, like. forzen was almost entirely just a joke/throwaway character that caught on bc of scorpy's improv, but the way you make it seem like he's nervous (and he has every right to be) and trying to cover for himself really gives a whole new perspective to him. bravo!

@@DeeCross My friend had literally nothing going for him. Went into the Army. They taught him a vocation, went on 2 deployments, and had quite a bit of money put away when he came back. Put the money down on a house, and started work as a diesel mechanic from his job in the Army. He was originally going to use his GI bill to go to college, but instead he changed his mind. He wants to hold onto it and give it to his kids so that one of his kids can go to college for free. I fail to see how that is a bad thing. Without the Army, he wouldn't have been able to have the option to go to college or a trade school. And now he's well off. The Army isn't for everyone, but I wouldn't say that the Army's recruitment of lower income high school graduates is a BAD thing. Its still providing a service, occupation, and income they otherwise wouldn't have, not to mention arguably turning the lives around of a lot of people that would otherwise get involved in crime.

It should ultimately be a calling, but the fact that it is a better option for many low income high school grads than the alternatives does not make that bad somehow. A professional army will always be more effective than a conscripted army, at least usually, however a professional army made up of people only seeking benefits will be a poor army. A nation that fails to instill national pride and unity in its people and has to resort the economic incentives to get recruits will suffer in a full scale ware, but to be fair it would probably be made up of conscripts by that point anyways. And its a joke lmao
