I got mine from Amazon a couple days ago on a metal bracelet (cruelty free). It's coming on Friday. Will be a nice addition to my collection. Fingers crossed.

Repairs through Fossil should have only cost $45, for as many non-warranty issues as you need fixed. And Fossil is a watch manufacturing company first, then a leather goods ;) They have been making watches since '84, leathers since early 90's.

Good review. Just picked up a pre owned Decker, and had no idea how to use the chrono. Could not get it reverse as you did though. Practice I suppose. Some comments dissed this brand, but my son had moisture under the crystal of his, and Fossil paid for all shipping and repair/new crystal. 👍
@CapTheBottle9 жыл бұрын
Fossil also has a Refurbishment program for basically all their watches. For $45 flat including shipping and handling you can get every part on your watch replaced with a new watch essentially you get a brand new watch for $45.

"Fossil is known for making handbags for ladies, but they also make some nice watches." Umm, no?... They're known for making watches, but they also make some handbags? Maybe? But who cares about ladies' handbags? "Fossil was founded in 1984 as Overseas Products International by Tom Kartsotis, a former Texas A&M University student living in Dallas from a suggestion by his older brother, Kosta Kartsotis, a merchandising executive at Sanger-Harris. Kosta told his younger brother about the potential large profits that could be made in importing retail goods made in the Far East, specifically in importing moderately-priced fashion watches.[1] Their main product was fashion watches with a retro look. In 1990, they introduced leather goods under the Fossil brand, and the Relic line of watches."

+iJulian It's working great nearly a year later! The crown feels kinda gritty and that's from wearing it in the shower. My other Decker seemed to be more water resistant around the crown. So waterproofing isn't consistent it would seem.

Hey there, great video, just wanted to ask that: did you manage to set the date to "know" when we have like 31 days in a month or 30 ? I just bought this watch and not sure how that works :)
@Pizzscn9 жыл бұрын
This watch doesn't do that. You have to set that manually. It's not that big of a deal. Don't set the date too close to midnight. I usually wait until 12PM the following day so as to not damage the date mechanism.
@BotondIstvan9 жыл бұрын
+Pizzscn Oh okay would have been pretty cool if it would work out of the box but not a deal-breaker. Thanks for the tip!

I bought A fossil in November 2015 and now my watch died on me. When I purchase it they told me there's a guarantee 11 years. I went the store and replace battery. But when I come home it died on me again it was not really working at all. Since I left the time in the store. How can I send this to repair? Or where can I send it to repaired?

how to use the tachy on this watch? any help?
@VamsiMohanKrishnaVadrevu7 жыл бұрын
the tachymeter is not going to be useful in this watch. they messed up it by keeping the normal seconds have as the main seconds hand. for tachymeter to work, the chronograph seconds counter should be the main seconds hand in the center. when we push the start button, the central seconds hand is supposed to start counting... and as you stop it, you'll measure the speed of something over an hour. If you want a functional chronograph with tachymeter, you can look at orient Captain chronograph. that is a well designed watch and it is fully functional

$70 is ridiculously cheap for a watch. I generally budget myself around $200 for a watch purchase.
@Pizzscn10 жыл бұрын
I'd be interested to see what you think of the watch them. I don't really know anyone who gets premium watches like that so I have no idea what to compare it to haha
@stefanrohm418910 жыл бұрын
I don't get anything super expensive. Just mid level fashion watches. I have a Fossil as well. It isn't a bad brand by any means. They wear a little more than other watches but they have an 11 year warranty that covers the movement. That is pretty hard to beat. If you spend a little more you can get something like a Bulova or a Citizen which have a better movement than most watches of that price and will last you forever. My favourite watch I have is an automatic Bulova. Just my two cents.

@@milner267 holy smokes, this was 6 years ago. I’ve forgotten I had that watch. It must be in storage. I’ve even forgotten this video but now that I see it again I think I like the dark face better. It almost looks like an Omega. Still a nice watch.

@@SuperCarcher good call. I myself have had the dark one since about 2015, but maybe never appreciated it well enough. I'd look into having the battery replaced, as I'm now in a corporate environment.

@@milner267 oof, I was in the corporate world for 30 years, good luck. And cheers owning that Fossil. I see where used ones are going cheap online. I think I might buy one. Those look like classic retro watches. Too bad nobody takes Fossil seriously but I think they make a decent watch. Or at least they used to. Currently rocking a Tissot - Men's T-Race Chrono Quartz. The one with the red rubber strap. Fossil and Tissot. That says a lot about me I think.

I just dont understand, how can someone spend so much money on a Fossil... 100 bucks, or even more... Actually, I dont understand, how can anyone wear a Fossil...
@Pizzscn8 жыл бұрын
+Kornel Berkes fossils are actually on the low end in terms of watch prices. But yeah they aren't for everyone. If you really like something though, you'll spend more money to get it. I really liked this watch so I spent the money to get one.
@kornelberkes39998 жыл бұрын
Oh, actually, Fossils are not even on the map, when it comes to watches. Fossils are mall watches with chinese movements for 5 bucks a piece. That is why I dont get, how could anyone spend that much money for a chinese battery watch. In this range, you can find hundreds of Seikos, Orients and other automatic pieces from "real" watch companies. Actually, i found this video only through the search for the horrible replica of Omega Speedmasters, from Fossil...
@kornelberkes39998 жыл бұрын
You dont get it. But reading your comment, it doesn't really surprise me... :D If you think, that you need 5000 bucks to buy a quality watch, its your problem, I was talking about watches in the 100-300 range. There is plenty of quality automatic watches from watch companies, not fashion brands like Fossil. If you think, this is snobbery, ok, but would you drive a car produced by lets say Gucci, or a totaly average Ford? I would grab the ford, becose it is made by a car manufacturer, so it is the same with watches.
@leoray12348 жыл бұрын
You are so right. I got seduced by the design of a Fossil, ordered it online, and as soon as it arrived, I realized what a cheap watch it was (not cheap in price, cheap in build). It was 15 minutes off withing one day. I returned it the next day.
@BATHALANG7 жыл бұрын
i mean it's really all preferences. if I see a watch I like I would buy no matter what price if it's a unique design. i don't really care for the movement. If it tells time it's a buy i would certainly buy a fossil for over 100 because I've seen some nice designs that price ranged in that area.but for now I have two fossil watches I've bought for around 60 bucks and my oldest one which is three years old works great and the battery is still running.all in all it's your money so you should buy whatever you like
