I thought it would be bad but I’ve tried it on a couple of times and didn’t mind at all. It also probably helped that the display model happened to be just about perfectly sized for my wrist (a bit over 7”)

It's actually super easy to modify a date movement to no date. The only difference is the setting lever has 2 notches instead of 3. That, and just removing the date wheel and gears that drive it. It's a similar part swap on Seiko movements. I've done it many times on an ETA 2824 when I'm putting together a no date watch.

The 3min markers on the 3h subdial on the Omega is one of the most underdiscussed anachronisms in the watchworld... Breitling does them too every now and then. Back in the day (1950/60s) 3mins was the tariff unit for long-distance phone calls. At least in Switzerland. You start the chrono, pick up the phone. Each red marker costs you one substantial unit of cash... I personally love them and think they have become too rare in modern watches. You normally only find them on vintage-inspired pieces or hommages.

1. Went in to “decide to buy” the Speedy Pilot last week… it’s even better in the hand but so THICK on the wrist, so much so, that I didn’t purchase it 😢 2. The UN Freak & Czapek prices are crazy low for their design, movements & finish. Another brand’s logo on their dials and they are both priced at $100,000 3. AP has officially jumped the shark & is the new Hublot, except worse. Awful customer service, openly extorting customers to buy certain models & are making gross watches 🤮 = dead to me

there are a number of wasp species that are friendlier than yellowjackets. a lot of different paper wasp species are quite docile and don't sting unless you're really pissing them off. mud daubers are extremely chill except they try to eat my jumping spiders. also all of the parasitoid wasps barely ever sting humans. I have seen them flying around my orange monkeyflowers and they've never dive bombed me like the yellowjackets up in the roof did last year. sorry to nitpick.
