Remember how they designed the Carcharodontosaurus with Egyptian symbols because it was discovered in Egypt? Kronosaurus with clock symbols because it’s name means “time”? I could go on, a lot of thought went into the designs of the first two games that made them look cartoony but distinct, I can’t identify half of these workout reading their name.

Before anyone says anything about my comment, know that I have played all three of the fossil fighter games. This is merely my opinion and the reasons as to why I didn't enjoy the game. It had some good points, but overall I thought the game just wasn't that good. Know that I am not a hater, just a veteran player of this series. This was ONE of the reasons I wasn't a big fan of Frontier. While I do appreciate the more realistic design of the vivosaurs, some of them I feel didn't need to be changed. Like Charchar, Gorgo, and a few others. The main reason is because I didn't enjoy the aspect of finding the fossils or the new way of going about digsites. I enjoyed using the sonar and finding random fossils. It was a lot of fun because I never knew what I would get and running around the digsite was fun, I could collect a little bit of gold due to the destroyable objects. The second game included something entirely different, such as super revival and giant fossils, and I loved that. I also didn't enjoy the story that much, there wasn't many cutscenes nor as many characters I could get to love. (The first game had very loveable characters while I enjoyed the cutscenes the second game had to offer,) While the aspect of fighting Wild vivosaurs was fun, I found it easily boring and the battle system wasn't fun at all. Going in an order of the speed of an individual vivosaur instead of all together wasn't exactly that fun for me as most of the vivosaurs I loved to use were slow as can be, making me get screwed over by the final boss. I also found it tedious that whenever you found certain fossils, that you had to make it to the fossil first before the vivosaur got to it. It always got ruined for me even when I had a fully upgraded buggy. Again, the game can be fun for a while and is a good game for beginners if they want something realistic like and fairly easy if played correctly. I may sound a bit bias and I acknowledge this, but this is because I have played the previous games before this one. I personally believe this series is underrated and if they decide to make a fourth game, that they bring back a few old aspects of previous games. (Like the second game did with the Dinaurians.) Again, this is MY opinion and you do not have to agree with me. It is okay to like Frontier and it is okay to not like Frontier. It isn't a game for me, but it is good that if it is a game for you. More power to you and more money going into making a possible fourth game.

I agree with you and most of your points mate. I think the combat system is a bit too complicated for my taste. I’m not saying that the previous combat systems were flawless, but I loved the ways in which they worked in the first two games. The redesigns were not great for the majority of the vivosaurs, but some of them were stellar, like Dimetro. Some of the new vivosaurs were great and if there is a future entry into the franchise, then I would like to see them return, like Lythronax. That one with its concept and design is, in my opinion, almost perfect. I would like to see the return of cutscenes, WALKING, and super evolvers. I want to see random NPCs in the digsites and wells to transport to various locations in the sites themselves, like Champions. I also hate the concept of wild vivosaurs. There was a cutscene in Champions where you, Todd, and Joe battle a wild allo for your tutorial. That was pretty cool and creative at the same time. Mammals and marine creatures also need to make a return. They were cool also and added more depth to the roster of vivosaurs.

I enjoyed Frontier. I liked the wild dinosaur concept and how they can interrupt excavations, cause it’s not like a carnivore would just stand around and wait for you to finish digging up a fossil. I also liked the combat, but the combat in the first two games were definitely better. Some of the designs were really cool, like Lythro and F-Raptor. I’m glad they still had the original T-Rex design. However the story is quite forgettable, your partner vivosaur for the entire main story is garbage as he is weak af. The main thing thee was t I liked about the game was the new excavation system and how the fossils looked. It was a little more realistic to m finding rocks that have fossils in them, instead you actually had to excavate them on site. Another thing I hated is that none of the dinosaurs had roars if I remember correctly. Also what happened to Ignio (or Igno, I forgot which one) and Frigi? There the legendary vivosaurs. Even champions included them as DLC vivosaurs, and those designs in champions are some of the best in the game in my opinion, though their use in battles are debatable cause their moves use so much FP that you can’t really use them effectively until later in a battle.

I think I like some of redesigns more than the originals. Especially Zino. Some of them didn’t even change that much, like Brachio and Stego. With Frontiers, I also actually liked some of the changes. Like being able to swap vivosaurs, not having to find just the skull in order to revive the vivosaur, and driving around is surprisingly fun.

I am willing to praise Frontier for representing specimens for certain dinosaurs (e.g. Tyrannosaurus Sue). I'd even go as far as to say that is the only good thing about the game and its collection of vivosaurs. However, that does *_NOT_* excuse cutting a massive portion of Fossil Fighters Champions's Vivosaur roster, the lack of variety, removal of the Legendary type, unnecessary vehicles, butchering of the franchise's core mechanics, the cringe as hell theme song, poor writing compared to the previous two entries, worthless NPCs, Rolland's character design, redesigning all the vivosaurs and destroying whatever chance we have or may have had at getting another game from this criminally underrated series!

I'm just saying this was my first Fossil Fighters Frontier was my first Fossil Fighters game. I never played the first 2 so I don't know what they changed or if the first 2 were good, anyways I loved this game. I liked the character, cutscenes, and vivsaurs. I know veterans of the series may not be too happy with the changes but I personally like all of them and think it's a great game. Btw my favorite vivasaur is Allo PT or 1:09! As a fan I've played all 3 games from start to finish and have even gone as far as to collect and max out almost all vivosaurs in all 3 games. Now this game did take a big risk in making some major changes compared to the first 2. And honestly, I love the changes it made. You have different designs (yes even I agree that not all of them are perfect), different gameplay, and even a different way of battling. I absolutely love battling in this game, because it makes you pick only one vivosaur, which to me makes it more interesting because for some it could seem as though that 1 vivosaur is your partner, and it also allows you to battle with friends on your team, something I feel is a huge step up from the original 2. All in all, this game does have benefits that the first 2 dont have, and I personally believe that those changes are what make it a more fun experience.
