Unfortunately with all the work I have going on I haven't had a lot of time to do any side prep work but hopefully I'll get some more free time soon because I really do miss prep work. Keep it up. That's looking great. I look at all my crabs often and can see spots where I can do more micro work. Do you think these crabs were buried alive? Are they molts? I live near the Mazon Creek deposits . Our concretions were buried in mud deposits in a River estuary during storms. Pat
@MamlamboFossils4 жыл бұрын
Good question Pat, they are complete crabs. I think it must have been some natural even that buried them. Perhaps a landslide. It's all up for debate though 😁
@patrickmay44894 жыл бұрын
Mamlambo it sounds like your concretions are formed the same way ours are. I really enjoy your videos. I like the way you film, and your narrating. What an awesome place you live. My wife and I live in the states, were lucky enough to vacation in New Zealand , 2 weeks on the South Island. I did not know there were so many fossils there. We did see the Petrified Forest in the tide zone.

I did prep one that was broken in half and it was filled with calcite. Have a look for the video on my channel.

A true Michaelangelo disciple, you picture the work and chisel away everything that isn't it ... with a bit of a hand from the fossil!

Hi there! Glad you are enjoying it! I don't sell any of my fossils or concretions, but perhaps you can collect some near where you are?
