Chigz, regarding the phone calls, you should press and hold the Bluetooth button from the drop-down toggle menu on your phone and make sure phone calls is switched on for Bluetooth. It should work then. I can now make calls and hear clearly through my fossil watch.

I just got mine and have to say it's really nice. My only issue is that it does not live up to the 24hr battery life. I didn't use it much as work and after a 10hr work day I was down to 15%. Shortly after it's wanting to recharge. Other than that I love it.

If you are getting the same sound again just turn off the bluetooth and on the bluetooth. This will resolve the issue it worked for me. This troubleshooting issue is there in the watch itself.

Great review man, it's very helpful in my decision to get this watch! Only thing I disagree with is the statement about the Ticwatch pro getting two days... I've been using it for several months and I get almost exactly the life you mentioned for the Gen 5, right around 20 hours. To me it seems like the Gen 5 has everything I like about the Ticwatch Pro and improves upon the things I don't like. 😉

Girl, I agree with you. The Google OS has the drain battery problem. Right now the Ticwatch 3 is on the market and of course for very good battery life, the Huawei GT 2 Pro. Also, the Galaxy Watch 3, but wait a little more for a price drop. I have a Galaxy Watch 46mm and I'm thinking to catch the Ticwatch 3 for a change. But I am thinking about it, yet. I said all these because I am in a quest too. For my second smartwatch. Kisses red hair.

I would have taken a deeper back like the Galaxy if they put a larger battery. I also would have liked the large buttons on the side to be much smaller. I feel I will be bumping them constantly once I get the watch. Lastly wouldn't BT 5 have helped the battery life slightly? My dream is for Samsung to make a wear is watch they have great hardware but lack of apps ruin the experience.

Oh btw the speaker issue. Fossil knows about it. They are doing a firmware update sometime in September. Mine isn't as bad as yours. It just crackly when calling someone. The issue is after you do a phone call, the speaker remains crackly for everything else like music sound notification sound etc but if you reboot it the speaker is fine again expect for phone calls still. So its deffo a firmware issue and hopefully fossil will updste that shit soon.

I think I'm going to this watch or the amazfit gt 2 since my galaxy watch active 2 will run out of support due to going to Android os system. Really like the look and design . really fed up with samsung. They should not do their customers like that. I'm leaning toward the fossil Carlyle with the smoked metal look. Fossil is a wearos watch and is much better in functions and features than the amazfit GTR. Now the amazfit GTR is basically a fitness watch and nothing more.

I own this watch - comming from the first gen - First off this is hands down the best Fossil smart watch yet and - it all depends on what u do with it - just time like a normal watch - tap watch or push button to see time - the watch can last 5days - now use it like a smartwatch - it can last a day to two days - and lastly if u play music / downloading new faces/ apps all the time it will not last a day - common sence really - so a heads up - right now its one of the best all around smart watches for the $$ also if u get metal band - it looks damn good - I get alot of comments about it
