So pleased you found some trilobites. When we went there we came home with a couple of blocks filled with shells and corals, but didn’t find any trilobites. I was thinking at the time the miners found more as they were working underground. Wouldn’t mind going back when in the area, maybe better luck next time, plus last time I was hugely hungover from a wedding the day before 🤪

Favosites? Then Hexegonaria? Orthocone nautiloid? Plenty of trilobutts and a cephalon. Great haul. Next time I’m in the UK I would like to hire a car and go there. Silurian is very rare in NZ.

Buxton and Oldham are ok sites...nice walks to. Don't forget to check rivers and streams....some of my favourite have been found just in the water

Nice one Dan ,been to Wrens nest a few times over the years had some wonderful fossil from there .Great to see you finding Silurian fossils bet it makes a nice change from Ammonites ❤

Gosh what an incredible area.. Do you take a wheelbarrow or granny trolley with you, or perhaps just squeeze your bumhole tight when you cart your findings back to your car? I've hauld fossilised tree roots and rocks back here from the crags and very heavy work. We have a fossilised extinct sea-bed smack bang in the middle of the Australian desert.. I'm in awe of that place but can't find anybody to come with..

First place I went fossil hunting, its about 25 mins from my house. So easy to collect there.

Different landscape but, the finds are much like what I'd find in Ohio, just digging through scree like that.
