FOSSIL HUNTING at Stump Pass State Park in Florida

Come along on the hunt for fossil SHARK TEETH in Florida. We explore the beautiful Stump Pass State Park in Englewood, Florida. This is an incredible area for all ages to enjoy nature and sift for fossil shark teeth on the Gulf Coast of Florida. We show you our methods for finding shark teeth as well as what type of spot to look for and where these ancient fossils can be found.
Florida spent millions of years under water during the Miocene Epoch. During that time period, the shallow seas in the area that is now the Gulf Coast of Florida thrived with abundant marine life. This was a perfect environment for sharks including the massive Megalodon. In a shark's lifetime they lose thousands of teeth, those teeth eventually fossilized and today we find them eroding from the fossil deposits near the shore.

Hey man love the Contant!!! I can still remember when my father took me to Venice Beach, and finding my first sharks teeth. My question for you is have you ever considered doing shore dives on Stump beach looking for megalodon teeth? Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next video!!

Thank you for your feedback. I have dove off shore from Stump Pass in a boat. I found the Venice area to the north to be much more productive. i will probably give it another shot this year. Thanks for watching.
