Crosstown hands down! I have to sets because they're worth every penny 👑😁👍👌

There’s another great thing with the Yamaha stand which they didn’t mention …. That you can set it as a two piece stand instead of three piece and by the way it goes more lighter

Oh really, I had no idea, I've been using my DW light weight ones for roughly 4 years and the only one I'd change from them is the snare stand, I prefer Yamaha's stand to the DW.

Hey lads, Any chance of a comparison with the pearl 150 series hardware? I've been researching my options and these are almost the same weight as the dw set, but you get a boom stand, a more conventional snare stand, AND the hi hat stand has adjustable spring tension and adjustable legs for double pedal. The bases are also convertible between flat base and tripod. Interesting that they've been out longer than both the dw and Yamaha options, and seem to have significantly less compromises

I've been using the DW 6000 for the past few years. Still works like day1 after all the gigging. Very stable.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the Yamaha stuff . It looks pretty nice and seems lightweight, but it still has the footprint of regular duty gear . I think DW got it right... they’ve got durable lightweight hardware with a small footprint. Personal preference I guess. Love the video

I’ve owned the 6000 set since they came out. They cover the same amount of space. The three legs spread out very far. And when you have multiple stands. They are annoying to squeeze into a tight space.

Iv got a normal 6000 snare stand (basket) and it's great. Best of both worlds
@LeakyJAZZ2 жыл бұрын
Hey gents. You can put the snare basket on the base of a cymbal stand to get a tall snare stand / Tom stand. Also, for the issue of resonance, that happens with most snare baskets. I believe a brand called Booty Shakers makes a product to help the resonance of stuff in snare baskets

top tip guys they have put them in bags because aluminum is softer than steel it will scratch. thanks for the video. how are they going now? If you really start doing heavy rimshot hitting do the snare stands move in angle? my gibraltar stand does this drives me mad.

Been using the DW 6000 lightweight for quite a few gigs and no problem at all. Some footage over on my Instagram account....just search jonobarbagallo and I'm using the Daru Jones New Yorker with DW 6000 lightweight and no problems at all :)

One question regarding yamaha crosstown snare stand. Will it work with 12" snare?
@LeakyJAZZ2 жыл бұрын
Most snare stands can work for any size smaller, just not larger

Had the Crosstown, nice light solid hardware, but it just looks terrible. The matt aluminum color just looks cheap. Really liked it, I just couldn't stand the look.

If you have to pick one hi hat which would it be?

Are you using double pedals? I think the DW works better if you are, if not, the Yamaha is a more stable stand in my opinion.
@daviewavie1128 ай бұрын
@@JonathonBarbagallo no, jazz drumming mainly. Maybe some indie rock, but nothing super heavy and only single pedal.

@@daviewavie112 it's a more stable stand, however the one thing it's missing compared to the DW is the spring tension adjustment.

Do you think the Yamaha one would mount a 14" DW tom with the cymbal? Using the brackets rather than the mount that you've used?
@Kik_Hat_Sne3 жыл бұрын
I remember drumcenter of portsmouth uploaded a video of a tom and a trigger pad mounted on the same stand in one of the demonstration footage in the video.

Really nice hardware. But very dumb that Yamaha didn't make the HiHat stand tripod legs turn to accommodate slave pedals. Same with DW hihat stand.😥

Buy the pearl and make it work or and old school slingerland and put it with the crosstown don't get deterred!

Someone commented on a Crosstown review by "The Creative Drummer" that there's a bolt above the tripod you can drill out/otherwise take out (I'll need to look again) that helps it rotate.

DW’s look like a re-launch of the 70’s hardware designs. No wonder drummers from the 90’s and above dnt notice it! I learned to play on an old Slingerland and the hardware was the same as the “new” DW’s. 🤣🤷🏽♂️🤣

A very important thing is not just weight, it's footprint. Yamaha's are great, but the footprint is way worse than the DWs
@JonathonBarbagallo5 ай бұрын
They both have their advantages and disadvantages. After using these for the last 4 years, I think rather than just one I'd probably buy the particular stands for what I'd like. I like the dw hi hat, but would prefer the Yamaha snare stand, I like the dw cymbal stand for the ride, but would probably prefer the Yamaha as I could get better placement with it for my crash. But both are still very good...nice and light 😁
