I love that you guys makes videos about foster care and your journey! I'm a teenager who has wanted to adopt for as long as I can remember. I've always researched about different forms of adoption, but recently it's been all about foster care for me and that's largely thanks to you guys. I'm obsessed with you all!

I'm so glad you make videos. My little 3 month old foster baby came back so sad and upset from a visit with Mom and wearing all new clothes. I don't know why I got so sad this time but I think I'm just starting to realize how protective of her I'm starting to feel and how hard it's going to be to let her go. But you're right...it's totally what I signed up for. It's just that this is my first placement and all the feelings are new. But your videos help give me a little more perspective. Thank you! :-)

Love it! Thank you for the update!! Little man sounds so sweet. My new favorite quote is "open your heart to the pain of it, so you can feel the joy of it." You got this mama!

The intense joys and aches your heart experiences constantly are unbelievable. It's beautiful how you choose to love so fully even when it is so hard.

I'm a nursing student currently researching for a project on foster care. I stumbled across your videos and love your channel. I've been thinking about becoming a foster parent myself someday. I've also done some volunteering with foster children and feel like it's something I need to do. Not yet, as my life is just beginning but you guys are now a huge inspiration. Thanks for keeping your home open to these children and to people on youtube.

My husband and I just got our first placement and he has been here 1 week! I look forward to your videos because they are very encouraging and real! This has been hard, but God knows what He is doing and all we can do is trust Him! Thank you for the videos and spreading awareness about foster care! You're family is incredible and inspiring!

I can't tell you how encouraged I am by your videos! Our foster son has been with us for 10 months. He came to us at 1.5 months old and to say that we're attached is an understatement. I signed up to open my heart and home completely and with the knowledge that we could be wrecked by this process and it's a beautiful thing to know we aren't in it alone for the sake of these kids and their families. thanks again!

You're lucky they get dropped off at your house, here in Australia they're too lazy and we have to go pick them up

Have y'all ever gotten a call from DHS in the middle of the night about a placement?
@feminineremarker7 жыл бұрын
Not a judgement, just a question. I'm a foster carer too and for the first few days/weeks of a new placement, especially an infant, I take it pretty seriously to limit the amount of people who hold baby and usually only me or my partner can feed baby in that first stage, to help baby attach and bond. We get worried they'll get confused if passed around too much, and this is something out agency in Australia strongly recommends. We both have qualifications in child psychology so we're not just using this as an excuse to be selfish with our baby snuggles! My question is, how do you guys reconcile this with passing baby around? Do you have any qualms about it? I similarly have a yearning to pass my babies around so that everyone can fall in love with them but just get concerned that this might be worrying and confusing for them. Would love your thoughts :)

Very interesting. to be honest i have never thought about it from the perspective of attaching, only from the side that these sweet children need to be surrounded by as much love & support as possible during this tough time. So i look forward to others who want to take the time to spoil/love on them. but i do see your point of view and you've given me something to research :) we've never been told that from our agency, and we've been licensed in two different states. not saying you're wrong, i definitely hear your point. thank you for sharing that.

Thank you for your considered reply. It's a tricky balance for both of us because we love seeing others cooing over our babes, and we want to share our joy and bring others into our family and community. I'd love to hear more of your perspective and share this with my partner. We currently have a baby, a 3 year old and a 6 year old so it's a bit crazy in our home. We have no biological children (yet) and are only 26 so still very much learning from others. I love following your family and am so inspired by your journey. :)

Well thank you. just trying to be a bit of light in a dark world. sounds like you are too :) and i immediately went and found my husband and shared with him what you said. I really do appreciate you saying that. gonna go look into that further. Thanks again. and yes, such a tricky balance. i can already picture that and i haven't implemented this yet. haha
