I think that anything you share about the fostering process and Miss.A is always to educate or help others who are currently fostering. There is never any information that we as viewers, should feel like we “need” to know. Anything that you share on your platform is what you choose to share, and I appreciate being able to following along. From her bomb hair changes 👏🏾, to slight issues you have with case workers. You’re an awesome family that has allowed the internet in on your lives. No one should feel like you need to give more of a situation, regardless of what it is.

AlexiusDenelle16 absolutely! Unfortunately in our society these days ppl feel entitled and that you are obligated to "tell everything " or answer any questions they may ask just bc you're on a platform like KZbin or social media in general but I feel like with yt SOME ppl seem to think they need every detail all the little secrets or think that there's something you're hiding or say u aren't being "real" yeah sometimes I want to see someone's daily life or have them tell their opinions on certain things but it just blows my mind how people feel ok asking the questions or saying the things they do. Even going as far as making mean ,angry comments...like why are u not telling us EVERYTHING, it's so odd to me lol

I think that people sometimes forget that this is an educational channel, and not a drama channel. This is a place where you help us learn and understand what fostering is like, which includes the ups and downs. That being said, when there are these down moments, people watching need to respect miss A, her family, and their privacy. I think you all are doing an amazing job as foster parents. I wish I would’ve been housed with you all when I was in the system ❤️

Tbh I don't really watch any other channel that relies so heavily on the KZbinr's foster/biological children (yes, even the bigger ones that many people here probably love) because they always end up feeling very... exploitative. Your channel is the only one I watch/am subscribed to because you don't give me that vibe at all. You always try to speak well of Miss A's family, even in situations where you might be frustrated with them. You never show Miss A (or your bio kiddos!) in any situation where she's vulnerable or upset-- it's very easy to see that she is a willing participant and doesn't feel pressured to do or say anything. It's clear that the intentions behind this channel is to inform and to give insight, and that the kids' comfort and safety is what comes first. So thank you for handling your channel the way you do, and thank you for sharing the information that you are willing to share!

My daughter got custody of her older brother's two children three years ago. We took that step in order to keep them out of the foster care system. At the time of the custody hearing their dad was being held on felony drug charges and their mom had deserted them 3 years earlier due to a heroin addiction. We were lucky to be close enough to get them before they were put in the system as we had been trying to get them prior to the arrest of my son. Being someone who has a history of being in foster care, and lucky enough to be adopted (with my 2younger brothers) I appreciate and applaud you and your family for doing such an awesome amazing job as foster parents. Thanks to you maybe more people will step up and help the kids who really need someone in their lives.

I love you guys!!! As a kid who grew up in foster care, I know that not everyone is as accommodating as you. Some individuals do it for the house payment assistance. I know this because one of my foster homes told one of her family members "you should do it, it's like renting a room to kids." That never left my mind.
@juliehowman39124 жыл бұрын
I think you strike a happy medium regarding foster parenting. People will judge no matter what the circumstances or issues are. Their judgement expresses more about them that that which is held in judgement. I find that you acknowledge the thorns amongst the roses and root out the weeds whilst landscaping the garden of foster life. Each expression an exhibit of the exquisitely priceless gem harvested and placed within the treasure chest of memories. It is important to remember that every piece of coal given the right treatment has the capacity to become a diamond that once mined and polished is unique, valuable and desirable.

Usually it’s just an initials as you do. I know what’s allowed is very much different based on states counties etc. I think you both are fantastic with Miss A. I miss it a lot, though short hair is much easier to maintain! We have not heard back from her.
@adriennecolantonio86284 жыл бұрын
I can’t help but think Ms A’s parents rescinding their permission at the 11th hour won’t bode well with the court. Their decision didn’t demonstrate the ability to put the needs of their child above their own. 2 questions: Isn’t Ms A’s placement rather long? She seems well integrated into your family and there haven’t been any updates as to her parents working toward getting her back. 2. When Ms A finally does return to her family, how is that going to impact Darcy? I can’t help but think for the adults it will be bittersweet but for a child it would be devastating.
@BeTheVillageCommunity4 жыл бұрын
That was our thought too... watch the video I'm about to post about more of that situation. She has been with us, as of today 10 months. It can be up to 2 years. Reunification is the goal. We are very open with Darcy and use language that shows that Miss A is with us for now and that she still has her family. When she returns, we will cross that bridge but it will be transitional for Miss A, Miss A's family, and our family.

If it makes filming easier you can actually film her head and then later in editing just crop her head out of the video most editing programs have the option for that. That way you don’t have to film just cutting off her head the whole time you can just film her head and everything and then crop out her head in editing before you post it so we don’t see her face it that helps?

We do not confuse her name when off camera. Her name is her name and we only use Miss A while filming. We have had family slip up though, that is embarrassing. We laugh it off with her because we know she is more than that nickname.

I feel like I would have a hard time remembering to call her “Miss A” when recording. I’d constantly have to bleep out or reshoot without her name.

Why can you not show her face? And why can you not share her real name?

Molly Matheny it’s out of respect & privacy for her.

Molly Matheny in most states the kids are in care of the state and their identity is a protected subject. Most states it is against all the rules and you can loose your license for showing their face or anything with identifying the child. It’s also a safety issue as some parents may try and come get their child. So all That to say it’s the rules, safety and privacy for all parties.

Janice Clark Senegalese twist. Not trying to be snarky she’s just always about trying to teach about African American hair so I wanted to type the name for them.
