I would just like to point out that Zargon was being very nice especially since you all entered this quest with vanilla gear. The rule for wandering monsters is when they are revealed, they attack immediately. This could have 100% ended in the 2nd room quicker if the 1st 2 wandering monsters attacked when revealed. Mage of the Mirror and The Frozen Horror really are unwinnable for the heroes without gear/mercenaries.

the 2nd hardest quest pack... with some tweaks since 1992... even the solo quests are tough with a fully equipped character. recommend 2-3 heroes for the solos. Zargon can also go through and remove a monster from each mob to make it more survivable, and/or double the number of potions (monsters will increase the length of the quest). good luck heroes!

@@FostertheMeeple he certainly is... Frozen Horror has double the monster body points per quest on average than Rise of the Dread Moon. this is just a little below that.

We enjoyed it! But what works for us might not work for you. And, worth noting we don’t have a ton of Heroquest experience. So take that into consideration also

In the original rules, the elf gets to choose one of the four spell types first, the remaining three go to the Wizard. Does this change in the expansion?
