Gavin. Hell. I've been taking pictures in all formats since, I dunno, 1966. My Olympic days are over, at least, physically. Some things now are a bit harder to do then it once was. Life happens. This, though, is fact: every time I watch your vlogs (and I watch all of them), you bring a smile to my face. I sense you are truly a solid guy; talented as all hell; charged with a drive to achieve and experience the marrow of life, and now blessed, it seems, with the love of of it. You are a great teacher of your craft; your know your stuff; you are immensity likable and, we, here grateful for what you do. Thumbs up. This post of yours, to me, shines a light upon how specially talented you are. Thank you for sharing you with us. Merci'

Stayed glued to my seat the entire video. I'm an educator and you should know there are university trained educators who wish to have your natural ability. Just received my FLM CP38-L4 II Tripod. I'm going with an Acratech panoramic head for longer lenses and a half-ball leveler handle (I agree with Thomas Heaton on the ease of this setup). What half-ball leveler have you used on your FLM, if any? Thanks for sharing your experience and photography insights.

@@fototripper Hey Gavin, of all you record with the second camera is the back of your stills camera and audio, why not just use an Atomos Ninja V recorder and run your mic into that? Then output screen info out the HDMI and capture audio (with better preamps than that camera has). Plus the image we would see isn't another cameras interpretation of what your stills camera looked like, it would be exactly what your stills camera was seeing plus all of the settings. Now you have no second tripod, camera body, camera lens or camera battery to carry, just add the Ninja V to the top of your A7RIV, add the mic to the top of it pointed backwards, and your done :-)

Well done once again despite the weather initially not cooperating, BUT patience and persistence once again pays off, cool guys! Yavi using the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 Art? Great lens and highly recommendable...Gavin, one question: why are you not using the lens hood to protect the lens from the sun's reflections from the water etc? I can see that you use a polarizer in this shoot, and thus the lens hood may be a bit a hindrance, however, I wanted to ask that since some time as you usually do have it mounted the other way around...mmhh....just wondering if there is a hidden secret to it...?, otherwise why carrying more weight than necessary? Worth making a tutorial about it...?
