When the notification bubble popped up with something about, “I’m rich because of landscape photography,” my first reaction was oh no, not some jerk bragging about how much money he is making on KZbin and if you buy his 10-episode video course you can become a one-percenter too. But to my great relief and delight it was Gavin banging on about the true wealth bestowed upon those who pursue the play of light on the landscape, proving this is wealth you can share without limit.

Kayaks are great. Tandem kayaks are called divorce boats. Try before you buy, this would include picking them up to see how easy it will be to get them on your vehicle. Sit on tops are great for hopping off in sketchy places or launching through the surf. Pedal driven kayaks are awesome. Your hands are mostly free to do whatever you like. I'm on ly familiar with Hobie pedal yaks but there are others. Remember safety, safety, safety. Cold water kills. Every spring you hear about it. Those rock formations are wild!

You also have some pretty great landscapes in BC to explore and the support of your girlfriend (or wife??). I'd also love to have these landscapes to explore and photograph myself. Your videos are quite entertaining to watch and you have great processing skills (I've never heard of perspective blending before - the result is neat!) . Keep up the good work!

Love it when Gavin talks us through his compositions and camera settings and his justification behind them. It just aids the learning process. Plus his top notch Yorkshire humour along with Amanda's Canadian humour. I personally was disappointed that with boots with holes, Gavin didn't wear his flip flops!! 🤣

I couldn't agree with your appreciation of "natural wealth" more! But forget the kayak - get a good canoe (I highly recommend Clipper from Abbotsford). The Europeans (over here where I'm at) all make the same mistake. There is no canoe tradition here (other than crappy canoes for scouts), so they completely disregard all the advantages. A canoe will carry you and your lovely stalker together with camping gear, photo gear etc easily and MUCH more stably than a kayak. You can get in and out much more easily and your bow-person can hop out onto the shore and help guide the canoe safely and stably to where you want it. You can even whip the camera out and shoot from the canoe when needed (seal pops his head up from the water with great light) - try this in a kayak and you'll curse yourself like ... like ... well, like when you don't bring a telephoto. Superb photography as usual.
